Potential Strength Uneven in Playoffs (Fox>100T?)

As the playoffs ended, we can see that Fox 3:0 CG, and TL 3:0 100T. Even though I haven't come up with a clear evidence-based argument, but could the truth be that Fox are actually better than 100T, but just got bad luck to face TL too early? The logic is: 1.100T 3:2 CG: 100T is about the same level as CG. 2.TL 3:1 Fox: TL better than Fox, but not the 3:0 kind of better. 3.100T and CG both lost 3:0 to the other 2 team. 4.Fox potentially better than 100T, but got bad luck and face TL, which stopped them from going further.

There are always evidence or small glances that X team is, in fact, better than X team but the overall and end justifies the means of whom beat whom. Are Echo Fox better than 100 in my opinion NO but that's just my opinion. Both teams went 1-1 in the regular season so it's a toss-up.

Some teams are a bit better all around from every position, while some are top-jungle heavy so the tendencies can hurt any given team at any time.

The easy answer would be if Echo Fox were indeed better than 100 than EF would have had a better regular split + made it further than they did in the Playoffs and made it to the Finals. 100 did all 3 in which is a clear indication that they are, in fact, the better team.

Fox said that the real finals were the semis between them and Liquid. I think they were right on that to be honest. But 100t qualified first and with qualifying first go the spoils of the easier path. And had TSM not blown it they'd have faced fox and liquid would have faced 100T a round earlier.

Well to be honest I think C9 played Liquid tougher than anyone else so you could make the argument maybe C9 is even better than 100T or EF.

Welcome to season 3 worlds: tsm and c9 have to face top 2 teams at worlds (samsung blue, samsung white) in quarter finals. If they'd been in other half vs either 3rd ranked Korean team or the two Chinese teams? Might well have been skt vs tsm or c9 in the finals. But we will never know.

Same with Fox and 100T. Regardless, fox should be proud. They broke the Huni curse and won a playoff series which I think is a first for him in NA. And they've seemed to weather a tough slump while staying united as a team. I'm proud to see Dardoch finally having a team where he belongs and can contribute positively. Great to see such a turnaround in the career of such a talented player and I have no doubt if things continue this way for summer, we will see fox at worlds. Rick fox really deserves all the success his team has had this split. From everything I see and read, he's a positive force in the pro scene for ALL of NA - not just Fox. That's the kind of coaches and owners we need.

100 Beat fox's ass in season

If Fox wanted to have a better playoff position than 100T, then they should'be beaten them during the regular season. That's the whole point of playing 9 weeks of matches.

Alternatively, TSM could have beaten CG, thus sending Liquid against 100T and TSM against Echo Fox. But neither of those things happened. Fox lost to 100T in the tiebreaker, and CG beat TSM in the quarters.
