I won the 1 game placement thing Riot put up and it demoted me heavily. How does this system even work?

If it makes you feel better, after the original hard reset, and this one game placement soft reset, there's still yet another soft reset coming. In the end, those who don't even bother to play ranked flex till the next season starts might have the easiest time of all.

They said that they demote players for the new season. Is this your first season too? If you have these types of basic questions, read the news which they post almost daily (except on Sundays). If they have info on upcoming changes they post it a day or two ahead of changes. They stated that players would be placed in a lower position at the start of the season. On top of that perhaps your overall performance was that bad that you were demoted to your current level.
Played Promos, got g4, played a bunch of games and about to climb out of g4. Riot says I need to play another. Play it (everyone was high plat/low diamond). Win it. Back to G4. Wtf Rito
It doesn't work. Several people just won their fixed placement game and got heavily demoted. I went from Silver IV to Bronze III with a record of 11/14 games won and even won the placement match.
yeh i dunno the formula either. all ik is that im back to playing with shitty golds and plats instead of playing diamond 3-2-1 and masters. No more improving again just stomps. guess i can fuck around with lee more now tho.
I was plat5. Played some games before flex reset I was silver1 with 90lp. Now after reset silver4 0lp. gg.
