Darius - My personal opinion of why he needs to get a slight Buff.

Hello. I'm just a Platinum scrub, but I have played a lot of Darius games (currently 1.3 mil m.p.), enough to know him incredibly well, to get to know his strengths and weaknesses, and also to understand why he's a bit weak at the moment. Why all know this guy. Some of you might think he is disgustingly overpowered, some think he's in a decent spot, and some, like me, tend to think he's actually a bit weak compared to other juggernauts or fighters in Top lane, (even though we can all agree he is weaker in higher elos - Diamond + -, because of how players can exploit his weaknesses quite easily.)

Before some of you start hitting me, let me explain why I think Darius is a bit weak at the moment, and why he should get a small buff:

Darius's kit is designed around SURVIVABILITY. We're all familiar with his passive - in order for him to shine, to contribute in teamfights, he needs to survive long enough, in order to wreak havoc, to decimate the enemy team. That's what he was designed for. Otherwise, he would be pretty much useless in fights, more than most champions out there. To be useful, Darius needs to survive, period.

While his kit does provide him a way to survive longer, his Q, its heal, in my opinion, just isn't enough. As we all know, in order for him to heal, he needs to hit some1 with the blade. While that's easy in a 1v1 scenario (unless ur opponent has a way to get inside of it quickly and deny the heal, such as Renekton or Riven, and thats okay, since there has to be a counterplay to it, and you have to bait their abilities and predict the right moment to use it**), it is not as effective in teamfights** (where he's supposed to shine the best), and that's an understatement. His Q heals him for 12% of his missing health per enemy chmp hit, up to a maximum of 3 chmps. That is, in my opinion, quite hard to do in teamfights, unless you use your E to "stun" them briefly and slow them, and then Q. But, even if you do that, and manage to hit 3 guys with the blade, you only heal for a maximum of 36% of your MISSING HEALTH. Since using your blade effectively in teamfights is by no means a walk in the park, due to the fact that his the blade width is pretty small, and the enemies aren't just gonna stand still and take it, unless they're CC'd,, his heal SHOULD be more rewarding. Since the heal is calculated based on your missing health, to make the most of it, your current health needs to be pretty damn low. And that doesn't fit Darius at all. A heal for missing health, on Olaf's W for example, actually synergises quite well with the rest of his kit, since his W also provides lifesteal, and his passive allows him to autoattack more based, again, on his missing health. So, when his health is lower, the heal from his lifesteal is increased, and so is the auto-attack speed, that's why he heals like a madman when his health is low. But that's not the case with Darius. His missing health heal from his Q does not synergise with.. well.. anything in his kit. To have a DECENT heal only when your health is very low, when you dont have anything to synergise with that, and when the ability is hard to hit multiple people (that know what they're doing), is why I think he's a bit underpowered. Not to mention the fact that if he gets debuffed with Grevious wounds, that heal gets reduced by an ADDITIONAL 40%. It's not the fact that his kiteable that makes him underpowered imo, he doesn't have any blinks/dashes/or even a movement speed buff, and that's okay -HE SHOULDN'T. in order for Darius to be balanced, he NEEDS to be immobile. But he needs to SHINE in sustained fights, and he just.. isn't.. don't get me wrong, his passive does let him shine, but his heal, even if used properly, doesn't help him get there most of the times.

So, with that in mind, my advice would be to change his **Q heal, from 12% missing health, to 10% of his MAXIMUM HEALTH **(up to a max of 30).

Also, I think his Noxian Might should have the nerf reverted, since it would actually be more rewarding early game to proc it, but I would be glad if he just got his heal toned.

Anyway, those are my thoughts about how Darius currently is, and why he should get a buff. Sorry if I made the post too long, I just wanted to explain as best as possible why the need of the buff. Thanks for reading.

His q is the reason he will never have a buff because noobs in bronze will not be able to deal with it, once these new runes come in, (keep this on the down low) darius is going to be pretty strong ;)

slight buff

I laughed.

As for Darius, he doesn't need to be straight buffed. He needs simultaneous buffs and nerfs (though it would be fine for the result to be a net increase in strength). Specifically, the choice melees get regarding his Q needs to be an actual choice, and he needs to not be so shit on by ranged/mobility.
