Game Changing: The state of the game.
The issue this game has is Game changing. What do I mean by that? Well you are literally changing the game to an unrecognizable state. The issues are as follows:
-
Changing player champions to the point where players wonder why you didn't just keep the old champion and release their newer version since they are so different.
-
Why do you remove the old champions? It effectively banns players from playing the old style champions they loved.
-
Adding new overpowered champions with larger kits and stronger abilities. (Mathematically limit champion power levels ya know... it might help.)
-
Removal of strong early game. (Allot of champions feel useless early game instead of simply weaker.)
Balance inconsistencies: -Old champions were made busty and about timing. You had an easy combo to use and kill an enemy quickly. The question was when are you going to use the abilities given their CD and range of damage.
New champions are slower at dealing their full kit but have more damage and can rotate with less CD to worry about in many cases. Like reworked kata/akali/ww... you get the point. They became more sustained damage and less instant burst. This is an issue because many people played league for the old style and do not want the game moving towards a traditional mmo style game-play with multiple abilities you spam.
What is your incentive for rolling back or adding old-school champs? How does this help the company?
- By removing a an old-school champion and replacing it with a new champion you will lose a bit of your player base.
- Allot of the players that stay will be dissatisfied and stop supporting the game. (less money to the cash shop)
- The rest of the players will jump on the new champion and love them.
In net effect, by adding the old school version in addition to the reworked versions you will keep both the player base and increase satisfaction resulting in more revenue for the company.
You may be thinking, I already have loads of new players playing league but I say... You could have $More$. Listen to the player base minorities they still make money and are not hard to cater to.
