@Riot- How many times are you going to ignore this issue?

Losing lp for early afks is utter garbage. You know its a problem. We know its a problem.

Why hasn't it even been talked about?

I just lost 21 lp because our jungle got invaded and lost her first buff and she ragequit. I'm trying hard to tighten up my game and climb, and getting hit with a whopping 21 lp loss because of that is both unfair and one of the (in my opinion) many things tarnishing the integrity of ranked.

Sure it doesn't affect the high level and pro scene where you mostly care about, but I think its frankly bullshit that no one at riot is even willing to discuss the issue.

Problem here is several-fold. Given a world in which quitting forgives ip losses:

  • Players who are performing poorly would be encouraged to dc, to forgive the rest of the team
  • A duo could have a dummy account playing, which would quit before loss, forgiving their partner and negating ip loss

Basically, there's a lot of room for abuse.

On the bright side, dcs affect the enemy team disproportionately. If you never ever dc, and everyone else has an equal chance of being a dc'ing rager, the enemy team will have a dc slightly more than 50% of the time, or 5/9.

Given the harsh penalties imposed, I find it unlikely a random is going to DC just to help a bunch of other ransoms. That's silly.

And if one part of a duo dc's, clearly no reduced loss for the other half. Dummy account or not problem solved.

And because it happens to other people too is not a valid excuse not to fix a glaring and longrunnimg flaw.

The problem isn't whether or not a random will dc, it's that there would be an institutionalized system that would encourage people to flame a poorly-performing teammate.

Any system that addresses your complaint would necessarily introduce team-wide incentives, if losing, for one person to dc. I don't want a system that begets toxicity.

You are just making a wild assumption there.

And anyways my point was specifically early DC, and never connects. In those situations the scenerio you described is not plausible.

To be fair, if a Duo has a D/C, the match should end in a draw, resulting in no win/loss. The same should be said about Trio's...but that would make it more difficult to deal with...

Then you have people who leave Mid Match or towards the End thanks to you having the upper-hand...and Guess What, you lose the upper-hand QUICK! Stronger Penalties should be imposed on those who leave mid-match, regardless of IRL situations. (Forgiveness should be given only once per month)

However...with soo many ideas about how to combat rage-quits and the Saltiness of others...nothing will ever work out to suit everyone.

Duos getting a draw for a DC is easily abusable though.
