Is Stealth still a overbearing mechanic?

Let's just get straight to the point. In my honest opinion, Stealth is just too overbearing of a mechanic in the game. Yes, so few champions has the mechanic, but in my opinion, it is still overbearing.

Random comment: "But they're squishy and Stealth doesn't even last long."

Yes, that is true for most cases. But that one instance of Stealth during a fight can have an impact. Maybe too much of an impact. Back then, Stealth was rather easily countered by Pink Ward and the Red Trinket line (Sweeper, Oracles). But now we don't have those anymore and the counterplay against Stealth has diminished into nothing. Even though we do have some champions that can counter Stealth, there's not always going to be those champions that can counter Stealth in those games with Stealth champions.

I really want an item that can be bought and have an active that if you damage a Stealthed champion, it will reveal them for a rather short time (~1.5 seconds perhaps) or something very similar to that. Or maybe even a Red Trinket upgrade that only works against Stealth champions.

Yes, this may seem pointless as you will only be buying this against those champions very occasionally. But I just hate that Stealth is a moment of a free action. That one free action per time a champion can Stealth is, in my opinion, overbearing.

This is honestly just a small rant. But is Stealth not a overbearing mechanic? If I had to ask. Thanks for reading this.

It depends on the champion. Talon's for instance, is to surprise attack from his ult in which he can only do once. Vayne however, can do it multiple times while dishing out damage to multiple targets.

Talon's Ultimate is to protect himself when he is in the fray to give him a moment of respite. It is not a 2-bit Rengar ultimate.

I would just be happy if they made Red Ward what Pink Ward was. In which I mean make it so you can see stealthed champions, as that was the reward for buying a Pink in the first place: TO COUNTER STEALTH.

Removing that from the game was a mistake, in my humble opinion.

But it also felt really bad to have your ultimate countered by a 75g item. Rather than let control wards detect all stealthed champions, all non-ultimate stealth should be downgraded to camouflage, with the same detection radius as Evelynn's.

Considering most people do not buy red wards to begin with and/or do not buy wards mid to late game, and champions who go into stealth on their ult (like Vayne) tend to one-shot you anyway, I don't think it would be a major problem to bring back wards detecting stealth back into the game.

Taking the Vayne example, for instance. Red wards are most often bought early to mid game. In this current meta where Vayne can roll her face on the keyboard and one-shot everyone at level 6, perhaps being able to counter her stealth in those early game skirmishes would allow for more counterplay and a chance for others to be able to slow down her power spike (since she's a late game scaler anyway). Of course, buying the ward is completely optional and, in lower tiers, most people tend to not buy them anyway, so Vayne can still capitalize on the enemy's mistake for not buying one early. And by mid to late game when carries stop buying them or everyone has their six items, Vayne can still go into stealth undetected like she normally would.

So basically the same flow of counterplay that was used with Pink Ward.

stopped reading.

You know you are scraping the bottom of the barrel when your argument is the assumed stupidity and unwillingness of your opponent.

It honestly wasn't a "mistake". But it was a rather important change. The least they could've done is perhaps implement a new active item or Red Trinket upgrade exclusively against Stealth champions and not Stealth Wards.

Or another idea I had in mind was a hefty cost (750-1000g. Yes, this is probably way overpriced, but an item that can counter Stealth is very meaningful) elixir that will reveal Stealth champions if they are in a certain range of the person who bought the elixir and the elixir would only last shortly after it is proc'd. So think like Duskblade's Blackout passive except for Stealth champions.

If Red Trinket can reveal stealthed traps, then I don't understand why it can't reveal stealthed champions. Even if it is the upgraded trinket that does it.

u should see stealth in heroes of the storm, there are 6 heroes that have stealth or can grant stealth but that game handles it really well.

Again, the reason stealth mechanics are as they are is because having one of your spells being countered by a 75g item is too much.

As much as that is true, you have to consider the factor of you "must" carry the ward in an item slot. Which wastes an item slot. Then later on in the game, you can't carry one around if you have items in all item slots. Also, I'm not saying "Make Control Ward like Pink Ward in the past" because the past issue of it being able to counter a Stealth champion with a 75g Consumable item. I'm saying that they should've at least considered a new active item or Red Trinket upgrade that exclusively can counter Stealth champions for a rather small moment.

Im pretty sure we have the red thingy to help with invisible champs. Not gonna say its the best but its better than nothing.
