I Can No Longer Play Mordekaiser As He Is

I tried. I really tried to play Mordekaiser on 5.22... I didn't have fun. My team mates didn't have fun.

I don't know what to do as Mordekaiser anymore. The marksmen are everywhere and he already had a hard time against anyone who could harass him.

I can't play him anymore. That's it. He isn't fun to play anymore. Dragon ghost is a pathetic gimmick. MORDEKAISER IS NOT A JUGGERNAUT He doesn't live up to his fantasy anymore.

I wanted to shred on the rift!

Instead I got shreaded like aluminum and beaten down by everyone including my teammates for playing someone who is now, irrelevant to the game.

Goodbye Mordekaiser, you were really fun for a time, even when you first ventured bot lane you were new, but still something... Now your nothing on the rift.

Until something changes, I can't begin to conceive playing mordekaiser ever again.

Please, all the Mordekaisers out there. What can be done to survive this onslaught? I no longer have the heart to play him and have a bad time.

I personally saw this coming from the start. He got 6 patches in the "spotlight" only to end up a gimpy pick in a lane that should be his "home" according to riot.

Thankfully I've been playing him top since forever and the preseason did have some changes supporting the solo lane playstyle. Now if only Riot would start giving his solo lane some love and he'd be actually really good.

But bot, oh boy... Only masochists play him bot...

I thought Mordekaiser would be dumpstered before I tried to play him on this patch. Then I changed up some things about my build and this happened.

Grasp of the Undying allows you to Hue very heartily when you get a chance to trade. Once Runic Armor works like it's supposed to, I will again have hope for the Iron Man passive no longer being a shadow of its former self.

item 3116 item 3124 item 3065 makes you a raid boss who turns 5v5s into 6v4s.

Just know in advance that if you go against Caitlyn Graves KogMaw or Twitch , you're gonna have a bad time.

I applaud you for playing him that far. 5.18 is as far as I could stomach

Exactly what I wrote since day 1 of his rework, he can't be balanced with a kit like it and would either end up OP or unplayable. Not to mention that he has never been fun to play in his current state.

Bot lane is just weird. People criticize ADC's for being the only required role in the game. Yet based on Worlds, I would likely say that's false. The people who played Mordakizer bot lane didn't take an ADC into a different lane. So they decided that an ADC was not necessarily. (Which I'm pretty sure had nothing to do with How broken Mord was.) One of the teams even took Jayce in lieu of a normal ADC. (though not to great effect.)

So the requirement of ADC's, probably don't have to do with the fact that they are ranged, Glass cannon, DPS. But the thing we got to remember is that the ADC is about the only thing that can work in a duo lane. (along side the support) And that is because they are item reliant, but not level reliant. Take any other kind of champ, and they would need their abilities to match the ADC's fighting power.

Mord was different because he cheated. Using his Bonus exp to insure that he had the spells necessary to tango with the ADC. And I guess Riot decided that Cheating the EXP sharing system is a poor way to make non ADC's viable bot lane.

As for Mord himself. I recall that riot complained about his kit being oppressive. (Hard to balance around pure Tankyness and damage.) But, they thought that said knife edge balancing could work in the bottom lane where Team work and out play would be the deciding factor. (rather than raw stats.) But I guess that didn't happen. Mord continued to be a lane bully, then got promptly gutted.

Mordekaiser is my main and I intend on playing him again It's just that we have to figure out how to work him in the new game (5.22) what specifically are the issues ?

Trinity is no longer viable
All mage items are more expensive
The new masteries dont seem to have a combination which gives morde the same sustain in terms of maintaining shield and health in early laning
Teams with morde tend to give up (either actually or virtually) b4 the intended catch up features can come into effect.
The buffed competition is tougher especially early.

This adds to the existing issues (b4 the current patch) which made it hard to play with teammates who didn't understand the new morde (which is not a factor in high level team play but is in casual gaming).
