The frustrations of being in Bronze

I have only been playing for just over a year and play on average 3 ranked games a day and sometimes aram and normals as well, all in all I have played over 2k games winning about 50% (52% in Ranked) of them,Now I understand I am stuck in bronze and I deserve to be there because riot says so, even though I was placed in b5 0 LP after going 6/4 in promo's, so why bother having placements, just put everyone in b5 and let them climb out.

My point is this:- In ELO hell you are constantly having to put with trolls and single minded players ( chasing kills, staying in their lane the whole game, go all in all the time) and people who are generally not interested in actually winning. When I do actually get team mates who are interested in winning/playing properly it is either a stomp for my team or I get paired up with silver 5 players, especially when I am I am in promo's. Obviously I am not good enough to get out of bronze or I would be out of bronze and I like many others see how bad some of the players we get paired with or play against and think, how am I in the same league as these guys, I know I am better than them but we are in the same division. It is very frustrating to say the least, that if you mess up and get placed in Bronze, unless you are that much better than Bronze standards or you get boosted or team up with friends who are better than Bronze, it is highly unlikely you will get out of Bronze and that is the reality. Yes their is an ELO hell, but in my case I deserve to be there. I try and learn how to play better by watching videos of streamers and watching my previous games and yes it has improved my game play drastically, but I am still in bronze unfortunately. I am doing what the tips say, dodge games that look like they are losses before you start. main just a few champions in the 2 lanes you pick, don't get caught out so much and keep the deaths low. Now this is all fine and dandy, but when other lanes do not do this and go all ham and feed the enemy more than you got fed yourself, I personally even with a duo partner cannot overturn these games no matter who I play, I used to blame everything on other players when clearly it was my fault, I have stopped doing that and own up to my mistakes and in general it has helped, but not changing the results a lot of the time and that is the frustrating part of the low elo's in my opinion.

I am sure a lot of people have this problem and a lot of you have heard all the excuses and whinging way too often, now I am not complaining about my elo hell just commenting. If any of you can offer me some more advice to get better I would greatly appreciate it.

To all of you out there who reply, stop whinging, get good or some other sort of derogatory remark don't bother. yes I get it you are better than me, kudos well done.

I carried myself out of bronze the past two seasons. What helped me the most was:

  1. Try to find some higher elo players to play norms with. Yeah you'll get stomped a lot at first but over time you will get better. If you can start playing at a gold/plat level it gets much easier to hard carry bronze games.
  2. Watch your replays (Skinspotlights Replay or replay.gg.) Anytime you die or nearly die assume you made a mistake. Identify what those mistakes are and correct them.
  3. Watch pros and high level streamers. While they are playing try to think what you would do if you were in their shoes. Then see if the high level player does what you expect them to do. If so then awesome. If not then try to figure out why they did something different that you would have done.

You have to pick a champion like Tryndamere that will shitfuck anyone that tries to mess with you. Ghost and ignite. Hit the pussy you are laning against any time he thinks to kill a minion, if he retaliates you keep beating his face in until he dies. The enemy laner should be low hp enough that if you are ganked you 1v2 and kill them both. Steal the enemies red if you are blue side when it is up, you will probably be able to kill the jungler at it or like a eu cuck he will watch you take it and do nothing but accept it. Spam laugh when you kill the enemy to tilt them and call you out for playing a noob champ. Steal their entire top jungle once you take the tier 1 tower. Tower dive them if they are defending the tier 2 alone. Game will be over by 20 minutes if done correctly.

I highly recommend watching this guy's How to carry Bronze series. He makes at least 1 video every day. He's a Diamond player that carries every Bronze game he plays. Watch him and most importantly, listen to what he is saying. He explains every single tiny thing that he does. He covers everything from feeding allies to people that ignore objectives. He shows you what to do and explains it. Very good series for low elo players. He also does videos on carrying higher elos like Gold and Silver.

Now be warned, he is going to make it look very easy to carry but remember he is a Diamond player. It is not going to be easy to repeat what he does the 1st few times but keep watching him and keep applying what he teaches and you will improve.

My advice to climbing is to play a tanky jungler with hard CC and spoon feed kills/assists to your teammates. It's easier to win a game where your teammates are all slightly fed than to be the only one super fed and try to 1v5 the enemy. I climbed from bronze 5 to bronze 1 season 3 using Sejuani and Zac, season 4 I used Jarvan and Vi as well and got into silver. AOE hard CC is amazing at low levels because teamfights are clusterfucks of everyone running around not really knowing what to do so CC the piss out of them all and they get flustered even more and you win fights. Learn when to take objectives such as towers and dragons (those are really important now).

Ignore your soloq teamates completely and pretend they're bots

from there play a perfect game and don't let their actions/decisions tilt you

elo hell is not a thing. lower elos are frustrating because everyone sucks, but you do too. just because you have learned to not be a complete sieve and deadweight to your team does not mean you are good. this is the most common flaw of league. people see themselves performing consistently "ok" in every game in their elo and never performing bad or feeding and wonder why they are stuck in their elo when there are people feeding everywhere.

to climb, you have to be better than where you are at. or you belong where you are at. that is all there is to it. so by nature of being better you not only have to be better, but butter than all 9 other players in the game.

so carry. that means you have to carry your way out. if you aren't consistently carrying or close to carrying every single game you play, then you belong in your elo. Put a gold player in bronze and they climb out fast because they are going to hard carry games. silver players will carry their way out of bronze.

now carrying doesn't always have to be getting fed, but making the right decisions, not dying ,etc. so many things go into carrying. but in general if you aren't leading the charge every single game (and I mean consistently every single game) then you belong where you are.

consistency is the biggest issue that plagues lower elo players. and even some higher elo players in high plat and low diamond.

Honestly you can probably get to silver just by improving your cs, like getting 6+ a minute. Some of your runes and masteries are also not optimal.

I have tried to help several bronze players. Some of them immediately did well, but most of them didn't listen or only partially listened.

You can't expect to keep doing what you are doing and go up in rank. if you keep playing the same way you will get the same results. Try radically changing what you do.

Add me on the client and I will show you how to leave bronze. ~ soulnibbier
