Do supports have enough health?

I was just playing some namiNami with tristTristana in the bot lane.. mid lane phase i died to a sonaSona q{{summoner:52}} and then a lucianLucian q-autoitem 3133 which did like 1200 dmg total at level 9 or so. I had such a low amount of health! and I checked and trist had 1700 hp and i only had 1100. Later on I died to an ahri'sAhri q w combo and like 1 auto attack. I had support items like twin shadowsitem 3905 and ardent censoritem 3504 rather than any life items. So my question is... am I not allowed to play these supports without building a life itemitem 3067 early, every single time? The point of a support character is to NOT fight and NOT be able to do any damage, but simply allow for other people do gain opportunities to do more and take less damage. But does that justify them being able to die in 3 hits? So I bought a spirit visageitem 3065 so sona/ahri couldnt 2 shot me anymore and then we both had ~1750item 1028. and everything was fine but for a minute there I thought I might be living in a hellish world of always getting 2 SHOT as a support cc mage main. I'm used to playing jannaJanna and never even having to deal with anyone getting close but Even then sivirSivir and IJanna both got 3 shot by a jaxJax who all in dove us... and ... apparently he can avoid being knocked up by my tornado now if he is spinning his staff... or maybe that was just some weird one time bug, but he literally did a leap strike right into it near its origin point (it was behind/on top of the sivir which he was mauling) I can see that a lot of the balance is in the fact that CC spells are often splash abilities which can end an entire enemy team in 1 move, also most supports have mobility and heal/shield abilities so their counterplay when engaged on is to stun and run. But... Do they really need 3/5 the base hp of an adc? Hey maybe its the ADC's who have too much hp lol.

you are talking about pure supports

you are aware tank supports exist right?

or heck, run Soraka with Grasp and maybe build a few tanky items, you'll be fine

question is were the enemies that killed you ahead of you? if yes, then ofc they annihilate you

enchanters are supposed to be squishier if you don't like that, play tank supports

supports like sona, nami, janna who are considered enchanters who have range/cc are very squishy and dont build hp items or any armor/mr that is the trade off they are easy to die but provide healing, shields, cc etc

No they don't have enough health.

Every single assassin breaks through their puny base stats because we don't have runes anymore.

We went from 13 armor and 10 magic resist, to 6 armor and 8 magic resist lmao. It's kill or be killed with Adaptive force.

And at the same time you build health, the enemy builds with that gives them more damage. item 3071 item 3078 item 3165

Sona and Nami are known for having low hp in early You can get 3 shot from a Draven or MF Q

But later you get tons of MR and HP from items

Seems like a tough choice if youre winning you can keep going power support items and if you're losing... item 3001 item 3110 item 3102 it is. But now that I know to focus on the armor/MR I will be smarter about my builds.. There are plenty of good tanky support items. Most of them are newer items that I forget about and the "recommended items" is a joke.item 3190 item 3800 item 3118 item 3050 . Oh... thats just 4 items to chose from....Only 1 MR option? We need more "escape from cc" items... like, theres only item 3102 which breaks easily and is never up, item 3140 for the ad champs, item 3814 for assassins, and item 3157 for mages. But item 3157 and item 3026 Only help you if you win the fight, otherwise they are just delayed death sequences that actually punish you by delaying your respawn.
