Matchmaking is done for?

So let me get this straight, I go 1-1 in placements and land silver IV. I'm ok with that. My past 2 games have been high silver-gold. So I play another. The people in my game were actually in Iron in their provisionals on my team. Every single other person on my team was in some division of iron. Why am i Paying with people 2 tiers below me? Answer me riot. This is not okay.

were you playing the same role? The role ranks are in the game now so maybe the role you were in was iron.
