S grade...

Just finished a ranked game, I had a perfect KDA, the most kill participation out of our entire team, secured dragons, and was only 1.5k damage behind our mid and top lane.

I got an A grade while Lucian, Janna, and Brand all got an S. They had good scores and deserved the S but why didn't I deserve one?

I am confused as to what I'm supposed to do to get an S.

And don't say "upgrade your trinket" as it shouldn't be worth a whole letter grade. Brand didn't upgrade his trinket and still managed to get an S while participating in less takedowns, and having a worse KDA than me.

It's not often that I do this well in games and the fact that even a perfect KDA and most kill participation does not get me an S grade is kinda disappointing. What the hell does one need to do to bump a perfect game up to an S?

Grades are relative to how well other players do, not relative to some hidden check list.

To put it simply all players who play a given champion can be viewed on a bell curve. Most players are at the top, with the worst players being on the lower left and the best players being at the lower right.

Your performance was great, but it wasn't all the way at the lower right where S is. The best Jarvan players do better than you did.

But don't let that discourage you. You still did a fantastic job.

Probably CS. KDA actually seems to count for surprisingly little, I've seen a lot of these posts, almost always with KDA much better than CS. Then again, I don't expect that I'd see someone with a bad KDA and good farm trying to claim S rank....

I hear objective score factors in too, to discourage farming all the time and not doing anything else to help your team.

Take a look at this. I got an A as Jhin while my support got an S. Before I really didn't care but now that you need to get an S grade to go to mastery level 6 or 7 it is huge!

This is my Poro King match. I've never played ranked, rank 4 Sona. I healed my team for 12k of the 72k the other team even did total. I was using shields and speed boosts and of course poros and my ult strategically. There is NO possible way to account for this NOT getting an S score unless there is simply no way to achieve it.

Kill participation in 37 of my teams 41 kills. I NEVER DIED. I was one of two people to make max level. The game is supposed to be played with tanks, mages, melees, healers, supports as a TEAM GAME. I executed this flawlessly. The game simply is 100% failure to reward players who play how they like to play and do so with nearly impeccable results. It wasn't a blowout game, nor did anyone afk. IT wasn't a surrender and yet I cannot stand that Riot can deny people who earn a stupid free chest and just hide the formula of Grade.

I have enough hatred when playing with rage players. The game CERTAINLY does NOT need to add more reason that when I have an excellent game that I should be so disheartened and NOT rewarded that I get angry. Riot has to rethink how they bait people to keep playing because I am frankly tired of this endless IP / mastery grind that costs them nothing and has PATHETIC rewards. Just give a stupid S score!!!!!!!
