Slythion1 votesthere's actually a perfectly understandable reason for this:
Ranked mmr is completely separate from one's normals mmr, so while he may have a registered challenger level for ranked, if he doesn't play normals often he probably has a silver/goldish mmr range simply because he hasn't played enough games for Riot to accurately judge his skill
it sucks but these kinds of things don't happen very often
