So you're new to League of Legends, and need a little help: You're not alone; there is SO much to this game, and if you've just begun, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, but don't worry, it gets a lot easier, and there is help out there. As a noob in the world of League of Legends I have found it is an extremely _addicting game, but also a game that take A LOT of skill and practice to master. There are so many aspects of LoL that make it impossible to master in a short period of time; don't get me wrong, you certainly can get a good grasp of the game quickly, but it will be a while before you're putting up a 30/0/10 game. After playing daily for almost 3 weeks there are a few things I've learned.

  1. Research is Key - There are thousands of serious LoL players that know every square inch of this game, and it will take time to achieve that level. To cut into that time, research as much as possible. Study the hot keys, learn the language, and play as much as possible. There are guides to LoL all over the internet, forums, YouTube videos, etc... So hit the books!

  2. Practice, Practice, Practice - By far the best way to gain experience is through actual game play. You can watch all the YouTube how-to videos, and study all the beginner guides you want, but nothing beats actual in-game time!

  3. Communicate With Your Team! - Like the guide says, you don't have to make friends with everyone, but communication can be the key between winning and losing a match. Call out your position pre-match, update your team on your condition/status, call for help is you need it, and communication helps build team moral, overall.

  4. Test the Champs - There is a giant list of various champions, each one unique. Differing skills, abilities, powers, advantages & disadvantages. Try a different champion every day until you find the one for you. You may want to use a different champ for different games, or different scenarios. The Kotaku guide suggests trying a few champions from the "free" list each week, which will give you a good chance to experience everything LoL has to offer. If you play with one champion the entire time you're on League, _you're gonna have a bad time, mmmk.

There are little things you must know to surpass that "noob" ranking, and I've shared a link (below) to help you in your journey. A quick once-over of this Beginner Guide will help any League of Legends gamer advance in their training. If you're not big on reading, below you'll find a League of Legends for Beginners YouTube video!
