Worlds: Ranged Top Laners

While watching Worlds this season, I've noticed that Top lane meta has shifted towards ranged champs (Gnar, Kennen, Jayce) and they only counter to this is to pick a champ that can build tank, lose lane but still have impact during team fights(poppy).

On the boards I've seen a growing concern that all ranged champs have a strong advantage over melee champs.

I'm hoping that in preseason some buffs come for Doran's shield (right now theres almost no reason to take shield over ruby/boots/armor) Another solution would be to make an additional Dorans item that helps counter ranged champs specifically. Example: Dorans Cape +50 heatlh +5 health per sec -10 dmg from ranged attacks

I love playing melee tops, but in the current state of the game I'm going to have to start picking ranged champs top just so I don't get wrecked in lane.
