Is strength of the ages overpowered?

Strength of the Ages is built on 75% of junglers at this point and is viable on the ones who dont use it as often such as nidalee. It gives so much sustain and free tank stats I feel it is a bit overtuned however it might just be none of the other keystones feel as good in the jungle.

300 health that requires a bunch of farming to get (and before you say "farming is easy in the jungle" remember that sometimes the jungler doesn't have the pleasure to farm up).

Really it's just that there aren't any other masteries that work in the jungle as well.

It is used for two main reasons on most junglers:

  1. Damage-oriented junglers take it so that they can be decently durable when rushing damage items (i.e. Runic Echoes, Bloodrazor, Warrior).
  2. Durability-oriented junglers take is since they don't really synergize with any other Keystone mastery that well.

The reason that none of the other keystones feel as good in the jungle is because none of the other ones really work in the jungle. The damage-oriented keystones are specifically made to not affect jungle monsters and among the rest:

  • Windspeaker's Blessing isn't that useful since few junglers truly care about shielding others
  • Bond of Stone works, but the damage reduction is barely noticeable on junglers.

It's not even a matter of whether or not SOTA is good, it's a matter of "Are all of the other keystones any good?" The answer to that question is no. The only champions I ever see taking a different Keystone besides SOTA are Kha'zix and Lee Sin, and that's only because they would rather have the ability to invade the other jungler or get off a gank that will actually result in a kill.

SOTA scales extremely poorly as a keystone, it only gives 300 health in total, (which is nothing considering giant's belt gives more health without having to wait 15 minutes or so for it) and the heal on it is so conditional it's sad. Better hope there's a cannon minion dying nearby for that clutch heal in the middle of a teamfight, bro.

I can tell you right now, if ANY of the other offensive keystone masteries affected the jungle camps (Grasp especially for tanks), Strength of the Ages wouldn't even be a Keystone anymore, nobody would have a reason to use it. And that's fucking sad considering the Keystones were supposed to be a way to supplement different play styles by giving you a variety to choose from. SOTA needs to be looked at and possibly reconfigured. Warlord's Bloodlust has been reworked, and it's going to need another one soon considering how few people actually use it. It's about time SOTA got turned into something more interesting as well

honestly I don't think its that SotA is overpowered, I think it has to do more with other keystones not being as good for junglers. Thunderlords, Deathfire touch and Strength of the ages are the common choices for junglers, and SotA is the most reliable.
