Hello everyone! I was just hoping for some insight on which top laner to grab next. I am looking for someone who can somewhat carry in ranked. I am currently in Gold V and I lack many top laners. The ones that I like and have caught my eye were Vladimir and Renekton. I really like renekton but I was wondering if Vladimir is stronger at carrying around this elo. All advice is appreciated! Kuroi862 votesRenekton has a beastly early game, but requires being ahead and careful play to work with maximum effectiveness late game.
Vlad' early game blows, his mid game is decent, his late game is downright monstrous. When Vlad can 1v2 against a fed ADC and fed support and come out with more than half of your health left, then you've got a late game monster right there.

Quantum Bread1 votesYes Vlads early game is not good and is ok if you have extreme experience with him like 500 plus games to win any pre six match ups. But go for Vlad instead of Renekton. Why? Renek like stated below is one of the STRONGEST bully in lane...the thing is he has a low skill floor but high skill set. Meaning you can master him easy but the skills needed in game and his mechanics are difficult this is to off set his stupid amounts of early game damage. Another issues with him is scaling tho buffed is still rather lack luster and with the meta going into tanky mid to late game champs with matches lasting longer he just becomes dead weight to a team especially in solo que. Vladimir on the other hand has a low skill cap he is relatively easy to learn and has one skill shot ability which is his aoe ult. Early vlad can just pull his wave in and freeze it rather well and farm and once you have spell vamp you can do one of three things farm safe and stay almost indefinitely, go even and push pull a lane, or out sustain and crush an enemy and start to snowball out of hand. He also has an extremely high mastery unlike Renekton learning match ups builds and how to manage tides of blood when to push and fight etc. Over all Vlad is safe and benefits more in the new tank meta as he can become beefy and some what tanky like an off tank but still put out lots of damage over time which the new tank meta hate because he just heals more than the tanks can do he destroys squishy targets and has extreme kitting with CDR, rylais, spell vamp, pool, and hour glass. In a nut shell Vlad can poke/heal and walk up to carries and destroy them while the tanks really cant do much and he heals for ungodly amounts late game while renekton is more mobile and has more tank potential late when his damage subsides he can get poked out of a fight relatively quick.
