Please make T3 runes 1 IP each, so that new lv. 30ers don't have to either wait till pre-season or "waste" some IP on them.
And for everyone saying that spending IP on runes gets compensated, sure, but I could not care less about some Hextech Chests when I'm starting a fresh account.
beware of riot when they promise compensations. they rarely come. make sure to keep pestering them every day till we actually get em
no matter how riot will compensate players for runes having someone spend 30k ip on runes to "rent" them for 4 months is beyond retarded. A ton of posts have been made about this matter but riot does not seem to be responsive. The compensations at the end of the season are going to be based on ip spent so its not like this change has any downside.

No. For the reason you outlined. Compensations are in order for people who payed for many runes so when all of them get replaced and excess runes removed, those people are eligible. What's exactly stopping freeloaders from buying every possible rune 9x for 1 IP? That's barely even 1000 IP. So everyone then should get compensated at that point? No.
No one has said Hextech Chests are the compensations, for all i know. Riot is still talking about what's the reasonable and logical thing to give to those players. Also

Tell me why Riot should care that you're creating a smurf and help you to personally not spend much time grinding for runes? Not all smurfs are bad but i'll assume you're trying to avoid a punishment on your main or want to play with lover level players (less skilled) for some power trip reason.
I personally think it would be fine if the runes one did spend IP on were just straight up refunded.
I don't fking want any hextech crap or whatever useless thing they will consider "worthy" for a refund.
Riot should present a choice --->
full IP refund
hextech/useless stuff like icons/ward skin etc
So anyone having enough/all champs and those which don't have a "meaningful choice".
With these new runes I have nothing to use woth ip :-:
