Can Riot respect the fact that a lot of players want to keep playing on the legacy client?

Problem is if they keep the old one, they can't add new features, as the old client wouldn't support it. Yes, new one is buggy, but so is old one. We just got used to the bugs the old one had. But the new one will have more tools to fix bugs, and add new things. So eventually the old one has to go. But hopefully by that time the new one will be less buggy. It's already in decent shape IMO. I was using it as soon as it came out. They've fixed a lot already and still working on it. Old one, nothing has/had been really fixed/updated in years. Yes, it's what you're were used to..but...change happens.

Unfortunately, it will become harder to maintain two clients as more and more patches come out. Like Riot said, it can't support the old client forever.

Replacing the entire client was a huge change, and it has bad points, but Riot has their reasons. Apart from aethestics, I think Riot said something about the importance of consistency from the login screen to the store to what you see in-game (which they didn't have the luxury to do while the game was growing).

Ultimately, once Riot fixes what's really important (like things that prevent people from actually playing), I think that as their player base we should respect their decision.

The legacy client is on such outdated code that it's becoming nearly impossible for Riot to continue to support it AND keep moving forward.

The move to the new client is gonna have its bad phases, especially considering how unstable it tends to be. However, it's a necessary evil. That code is probably a decade old, maybe more. The legacy client is pretty much just that; a legacy. It's a landmark of an age now past. As much as keeping it alive would be good, for historical sake if nothing else, the limitations have been reached and it's preventing growth.

The new client is laggy as fuck. true story. If riot can just keep the damn 2nd window from staying open so there isnt a 2nd League open thatd be GREAT

Old client is outdated as hell and impossible to add new features to. Those who whine about being forced to leave an old piece of crap behind are going to whine about everything new.
