Why does everyone hate adc on these boards

I just want to mention to riot maybe how to make some adcs more viable instead of this Lucian draven karthus meta that’s going on and as soon as you say something you have four people trying to crucify you for even suggesting that you help adc in any way. Guys I just want to have fun in the role I started playing this game with not for it to be broken stop attacking players that just want adcs to not suck not suggesting buffs but maybe nerf some stuff instead of making something stronger every patch

Just a side note I see a lot of people being toxic in the comments I want to bring about discussion about adc and it’s place in the game in no way am I asking for crit items to be brought back or for the role to be made overpowered I just want in a carry position to be able to do as much damage as a mid laner because whether you like it or not it’s a carry position your supposed to be doing a lot of damage stop hating on the position try talking about a constructive way to fix it

A number of reasons. Most of those are a result of not playing the role or having a great understanding of how it works.

  • They're solely focused on the idea that their roles will LOSE some impact in the meta if marksmen are strong. The fact that marksmen have little or no agency until the point where they can carry the game doesn't matter to them.

  • They justify marksmen being weak by clinging to the fact that bot lane players still choose marksmen in most games. The fact that most of those marksmen can't viably be played in any other lane doesn't matter to them.

  • They think marksmen do too much damage too easily and quickly when crit is good and marksmen hit 3 crit items. The facts that the build is not very strong UNTIL 3 items, and that consistent damage is really all the marksmen class provides is not their concern.

  • They don't want to be forced to depend on their marksmen to win fights or games at any point. Marksmen being dependent on the team for the entire game to be able to do anything isn't their problem.

When late game marksmen are strong they still are reliant on the entire team at all points of the game to help them build to the point where they can carry. They become the most reliable win condition on a team, but the tradeoff is how they mostly can't do much of anything on their own.

A lot of people on these boards can't see that tradeoff or don't care, and just don't like the idea of the ADC win condition "overshadowing" their individual play.

Because sometimes the game feels 100% dependent on a role played by only 20% of the people.

Because people have it in their mind that adc dominated one role so long, and now they are having competition for that role. Just like everyone else. Mid is assassins, Mages and the occasional tank. Top is “tanks” bruisers, bullies, mages and assassins. And jungle is jungle. So they think, why should not be any different.

Not realizing that any time an adc has become relevant in another role, riot has gutted them for it.

Remember Ezreal mid/jungle? Grasp Caitlyn top? Lucien mid? Old graves top? Varus mid? Kog mid? On hit jinx top?

Hell, they even get gutted for going off build now.

Remember onhit 5.0 atkspd kog? How about full ap kai’sa Ap varus? Off tank jinx?

Basically adc has been told “you’re only allowed to do one thing in one spot” and now we are being told we can’t do that one thing. So adc is pissed, and everyone’s just like “but we have to share as well” not looking at how they aren’t locked into one spot.

Season 7 ardent meta is stuck in a lot of people's mind.

I don't hate ADCs (it's actually my second favourite role), I just do not want the game to hinge on which bot lane won or lost like it has in the past.

Crit marksmen do need some form of buff, hell crit needs reworking imo (relying on RNG for damage isn't the most balanced thing). However they do not need to be made incredibly dominant. I personally think a lot of marksmen would be better off if everything didn't do a shit ton of damage.
