promotion vs demotion aka the perpetual grind

oh boy! promotion means you reached that ever elusive 100lp and now you need to win 2 (or even better 3 to get that beautiful next rank) and lucky you! you did it!!!! you are the best..... then you start that 0 lp climb to the next level.... fun fun fun

ah.... dang... had some bad games.... you lost another and you lose all the lp you had and are sitting at 0 again.... you normally were losing 16 or 17 or even 18 lp per loss.... you lose the next game (losing streaks are the worst, sorry friend) and you demote..... SIGH

oh.... now you sit at 72lp.... for one loss on top of the others you had to get you that demotion......

so promotions are something where you play between 3 to 5 games with no gains but one loss is going to go well beyond your normal lp loss for that demotion.....

it is painful on the soul.... [sg-soraka]

tl:dr promos you start at 0 lp even after winning atleast 2 to 3 games, where a demotion nets you a larger loss than your average lp loss for games....

Maybe if you stop banging your head against the wall you will stop hurting.

Go to normals or an alternate account, improve, and then play ranked on your main again. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity someone said.....

In my opinion losing a series shouldn't remove LP and just leave you at 100, since most of the time the LP I lose after failing a series doesn't allow me to go back into one with a single win.
