Reasonable Varus Buffs

NOTE: the most oppressive thing about Varus is the poke build, If you build him auto attack focused his Q isn't as oppressive. These changes are to make that auto build more viable.

Best known for his crazy Q poke, Varus is an unique marksman in a lot of ways. However, right now Varus play is strongest in the Q poke build that lacks depth. Much of the champions uniqueness also comes from the champion's balance of CC and immobility. But with the direction league is taking with more dynamic and mobility oriented champions, an adc as immobile as Varus is relegated to ultra long range poke only unless he can get ahead in lane.

There are 2 simple changes that would make his other spells a lot more meaningful, and both are too his E. Replace the 'Grievous Wound' debuff with the new 'Grounded' debuff. Thematically this better matches the trade of both his and his opponents mobility and sets him apart from other marksman. The slow field isn't strong enough to be a meaningful cc and the damage on the ability is kinda lackluster compared to autos and Qs, so this gives Varus a reason to cast it. The second change is to make varus' W blight stacks pop automatically on any unit that is in the E field. This give Varus more reliable on hit bonus damage (with this change some ratio toning might be warrented) but means that he doesn't have to give the awkward flip-flop between spells and autos for damage thats sub-par. This buff to the amount of blight stacks Varus can pop is balanced out in the autonomy his opponent has to leave the field. He will feel better against tanks and because 'Grievous Wounds' is so cheap he wont miss it on his E. I think this also fits character wise because the selected area implies he has a focused target, which aligns with Varus' tunnel vision for revenge. You can just picture the vengeful marksman laying out his corrupted hail of arrows over a Noxian foe, stopping him from dashing away while laying bursting blighted arrows one after another into this sworn enemy of his. The interplay with the ult and bonus blight stacks, everything feels right about these changes and they make his weaknesses more viable in the current game state and not so debilitating that the champion's play style is just constant poke. When I think of revenge I don't think of a champion that would be ok with just chunking his enemies then they back off to lick their wounds, I think of a champion that want to get down and dirty. This gives him a way to do that.

I should point out that builds which emphasis auto attacks and crit (which these changes would make more viable) make his poke LESS oppressive.
