The game no longer has any strategic elements.

Pick a broken champion, do the one thing they're good at. Those are your options now. Jungle changes eliminated all choice in how to play jungle. Rune changes took away all strategic elements of crafting a strategy to play around (as now every champion has one ideal "rune" and style of play). Mobility creep took away any need for positioning. Damage creep took away any need to actually think.

The game went from a thought intensive strategy game to a fast twitch shooter that any bozo could master.

On top of all that the game just isn't fun anymore. Just like what happened a few years ago with WoW (not that there's anyone working at Riot that was working on WoW then).

its amusing how they added a lot of objectives to fight over but its far too costly to risk the fight because of how snowbally the games have become

I mean, they basically mimicked the glyph system and talent changes from wow, but in a moba context...

But yeah, i've said this for years. The game has been neglecting strategic elements that they adopted from the RTS genre (then scrapping them after they've been left to rot) and started shifting it more towards something more akin to a spectacle fighter, with constant flashy effects, combos, and movement around the conflict zone.

Though I think that the fighter vibe, what you refer to as the "twitch shooter" design in the post (but that's equally applicable), might actually be on account of many MMORPGs trying to do something similar, pushing for ACTION > RPG. With stuff like dodge rolling and combo systems, in addition to snagging the non-circular AOEs from mobas.

I agree. Played a game with jinx,ww,janna, fiora, and ekko, but they won because the braindead rengar, kayn, talon, and veigar just facerolled their keyboards to win.And if they didn't kill us they just walked away like nothing ever happened."skill" has literally gone down the drain. It's just about the retarded champs to win.

Strategy died the second twitch reflexes became the leading design of the game. Which is.. Around S4~~

Not before that and definitely not just now.

Champion's having unique designs is meaningless if they can't translate into the game anymore. If the game is too focused on 1v1s and skirmishing and I'm only ever getting to use big AoE like Orianna, Alistar, or Sona on one 1 or sometimes 2 people when I'm lucky, then things like Orianna's ult stop feeling like unique tools to approach a fight with and start to feel like a weaker version of skills meant to hit and kill one person.

Reading the comments im realizing that this game has turned into what bozos always thought it was. When the optimal way to play looks just like most low-elo wtf moments, there's a problem.

Guys remember when runes and masteries used to give minor bonuses and werent major impact on the gameplay? Well when they introduced keystones it all died. The game became more toxic to play saturated with high damage. It only got worse with this season when they gave runes even MORE damage.

The problem is that the state of the game has become completely lopsided to the team that gets the first few kills/tower.

The game I played last night vs poppy is a great example. As a Nasus with over 200 stacks, no deaths and saved my jungler twice from invades, the enemy jinx and sup who were 2 and 0 dive me under my tower with my ult. Kill me walk away drop aggro and shred my full health tower in seconds.

Point is I played well. Did not feed but because the enemy got a few kills ahead my team and I auto lost...

This is just one of many examples that feels like the game is less about how you play but which side has the better damage champion.

But do you forget? When you would introduce a new player he/she would be annoyed at the fact of using hard planed practice predicted strategy. The factor of players playing to earn was something but it became nothing after the sole demand of options. Truth be told the memes of adc 2k17 littlery made someplayer annoyed af. I’m not an adc main but I can tell when a meme does more harm then good. Moving on, half of the player base or to such a degree wanted an easier way to level up accounts and be make smurfs, when the dream came true you paid a price of loosing an era of a game that may never return.

Let’s be honest to our selves many players, liked the creativity process, on the other hand new players who would come from games like COD, wouldn’t take so much creativity since they rather equip and make dew. When FPS games went down, League rose up, but for many it rose from its rich strategy and not so much creativity. Thus when riot discovered this, they focused on the aspect in enabling creativity more. In doing so they forgot what balanced the strategy in creativity. Giving us new over powered runes. That being said they also took the aspect of play more to be more. An example is when you would grind ip to get runes, soon enough that was gone as players had no idea what trash and good runes were and they spent their ip on tier 1 runes and saw no effect. Masteries were a little different. They needed you to be a specific level to achieve full power and be smart.

The real factor the game has less strategic elements is due to the factor of new players wanting an easier way to learn and old players having to use less brain power. This was once demanded and now it is given

It's funny too because picks changes with every patch when picks should be mostly stable. Like playing your favourite champion you're good at.

I've seen Wukong 1 shot entire teams with his R that i'm just "I give up, f this game" can't take anymore

Old rune system had cookie cutter builds too. Idk what you want. Almost all Tryndamere's used the same build, almost all Zed's used the same build, almost all Amumu's used the same build.... and so on...

Ok then go ahead and name some strategic elements that this game used to have and are now missing, should be pretty easy for you, since you are so convinced!
