Anyone read Perdido Street Station?

Have you noticed that League monsters are mini-versions of each other? All the Wolves, Birds, and Dragons have a similar-shaped mouth, with a protruding lower jaw, and soulless, pupil-less eyes.

Well, Scuttles have the Rift Herald to protect them. And they don't really die, they just get shy and duck under for a little bubble bath, that's all.
