There's been times in ranked where I'm at 0 LP, and lose a few games, but stay at 0. After three games or so lost at 0, I get terrified that if I lose the next game, I'll get demoted. Is the amount of games you need to lose to get demoted when you're at 0 LP arbitrary? Or is it set? How do they determine that?
Just having a "Go down in rank with a loss" indication when you're in champion select or something would fix this.
It's entirely based on your MMR which riot hides from you. When your MMR drops down to the tier below you and you're at 0 lp is when you get demoted. You if your MMR is high for your rank you could still loose 5 games in a row but as long as your MMR isn't in the division below you, you wont get demoted.
Same can be said for climbing but LP gains/losses are influenced on your MMR so it does make it difficult to climb until your raise your MMR.
As for an indicator that's not possible even by 3rd party sources since riot hides your MMR. Best you can do is use say op.gg's mmr estimator and if it says you're below your division be careful.

But here is my question. What will getting a indication do? It shouldnt make you play any different because you are supposed to be playing to win each game. Im goign to play every game just as hard and to my best ability wether im told i will be demoted or not with next loss.
Bu tthat is a change that doesnt really effect anything so i guess it wouldnt hurt to know it..........
But then again it could affect different people differently. Some people who know their next loss will demote them might play better and other who know their next loss will demote them might play worse because they will be trying to hard and make stupid mistakes.
That would be preety cool but at least we got days for demotion :/ but its a bit harder to calculate other stats I think :o
