Why are smurfs so abusive

I've never seen such an abuse of power and intolerance of lower level players in any other game.(Maybe this happens in Dota, I don't know) It really does make me feel sad and angry at these players picking champions like Master Yi and Jax just to stomp on the new player just trying to understand what towers and minions are. (Now I'm not saying that all smurfs do this, but a large portion does. )

The biggest problem this brings up is that it simply kills off newer players. After going 1-12 multiple times in a row in a game you just downloaded that you don't even understand would seem pretty off putting to me. Not to mention the enemy smurfs wind up insulting the new guy who doesn't even know what the jungle is. I just saw a Fiddle player try and jungle only to have his camps invaded and die 13 times and still truck on trying to farm. Only to be ganked and killed by Rek'Sai and Yi over and over. I felt so bad for him that I tried to give him a kill but he was scared of anything red he just ran away. (He eventually came through and got the kill in the end.)

To sum this all up, smurfs hurt and make the game hellish for newer players, instead of making a fun and helpful environment they destroy any interest new comers had coming in to League. It ends up really hurting the game and it's community.

There are 3 types of Smurfs. 1 High level smurfs looking to avoid long queue times. Usually not a problem they rise really quickly. 2 People wanting to play with friends just starting out. Usually duo queued. can be toxic and teaching his friend to be toxic. Still rare though.

Then there is the third kind. These guys have smurfs just to stomp noobs. They are silver to plat players usually feel too big about themselves that want an ego boost. They are toxic on all their accounts usually but these guys are the problem with smurfs. Heck sometimes they have the smurf because their old account was suspended or banned or they think it will be one day.

They aren't uncommon either. I had like 3 people on my friends list who have second accounts to dumpster people. Those are only the ones I knew about.

Trying to make a smurf sucks ass. Not saying being abusive is okay, just that trying to win games with the most incompetent players there are to offer WITHOUT your normal champion pool, runes, and masteries is just fucking frustrating.

They want to feel good about themselves when they can't get out of bronze.

Natural selection.

The smurfs create an environment that immediately weeds out the casual scum from the game. This ensures that only people who are at least somewhat serious about the game make it into ranked.

this account is a second account, but i rarely play it and if i do its with friends. I had a game with a very verbal smurf and asked him why he is doing it. He said ranked starting soon gotta duo.

If we got rid of ranked duo for Solo Ranked, it'd help curb a lot of these issues.

If people want to a ranked with a mate, theres ranked team or maybe they could bring in a ranked 2v2 on howling abyss.

I just call them Gold Tier.

Seriously 95% of the players I see rage are gold, or at least vocal about it.

I've had a fair amount of smurfs in my games when I started out and truth be told, I've probably picked up alot more from how they played.. even if they were just cheesing it out, than if I would've by just derping around with other newbies.

the best way to learn quickly is to get dumped on
