Why is riot putting unranked players in high silver games?

Im literally sitting here with a midlaner akali who lost tower at 12 minutes and hasnt bought her first item in 20 minutes. Good job on ruining match making riot.

I don't think that's an 'unranked' thing. I see normal silvers do that a ton.

An average competitive player is about as good as a high silver player.

Using this community-trusted, third-party resource, one can see that Silver Ranks actually have the highest percentage of players in them, with Silver II being the highest.

Rank distribution - League of Legends

One could say Silver II is "High Silver" because it is within the top half of the Silver Rank bracket. Therefore, unranked players are being put with the majority.

A few things here. If you were gold last season, when you do your promos, you will be in silver mmr. It's been this way. If he wasnt ranked last season, possibly a new account, if you rock your promos, typically it's an indicator of silver mmr too. They arent going to put everyone in promos in iron mmr, imagine how mad all of the streamers would be if they couldnt skip iron/bronze/silver/gold in promos.
