Make getting S ranks on champions you already have a chest on award a key fragment

please. The key fragments thing is complete bullshit, I can never get enough to actually get all my chests open.

On the surface this sounds like a pretty good idea, but then I considered how it might be abused; I could just head to normals, crash my MMR so bad that I am placed with the worst players there, then smash them for easy keys. If my MMR gets too high that they are putting up a fight I wreck my MMR again. This would be horrible for all the other players (that belong in that elo) for both my wins and losses.

Could Riot work on their Feeder Detection to look for people that do this? Sure, but it'll still happen, and subtle throwing is notoriously difficult to detect. There's only so much it could do to mitigate that particular abuse.

Anyway, you should get 12 fragments (4 keys) a month if you play frequently enough. It's random, but the drop rate is decent at first and drops as you get more until it resets every ~30 days.

The problem is that riot only allows players 9-11 keys per month maximum. If you get Key Fragments from this system, and players are only allowed 10 fragments/month, then it'll have to come directly out of the drops, and nothing will change except you need to get S ranks just to get your monthly allotment of Key Fragments.
