Grades
Hello people. I've been thinking about the Grades( S A B etc.). Just now I finished a game of Darius with 14 2 1 and 160 farm at 25 minutes. The second death and the farm were probably what f*cked me up but still. Previously I got an S with 7 1 3 and 158 farm at 20 minutes. At 20 minutes the absolute perfect farm is 200 and at 25 its 250 so the difference there was obvious but I want to ask riot and you guys(since Riot doesn't really care to explain the grades) what's with the importance of farm. The same game in which I got the 7 1 score and 158 farm and grade S, we had a 14 2 Akali with around 100 farm. She got S-. I know the answer always seems to be low farm but what the hell. If you are a 10 0 or 14 1 or whatever you go and teamfight- you are a beast and your team needs you. You can't be like: Oh I need farm for that S so despite the fact I am fed I will farm and not go with my team. It is my understanding that a fed player with a decent team- everyone with a positive score even if its 4 3 1, good farm etc- should help them. After all they are not the guy with 10 kills, you are. Yet the grade system punishes you for doing just that and not being a jackass and letting them fight alone. I am happy I got that S but Akali had twice as many kills, a lot more damage, stole a dragon I think, and even if I was pushing top they could 4vs 5 thanks to our Akali, yet I get a higher grade because I pushed towers and killed more minions despite the fact that I had 7 and she had 14 kills. I have been on the receiving end of this is well-the last game 14 2( I knew it was gonna be an S-). I also knew that I was missing farm( leaving it to the adc mostly and then we would group, take objectives etc.). I don't care that much but it bothers me. What kind of player do Riot consider the best( the Nasus type perhaps). And yeah if you are 23 0 with less farm you will get S, but this whole farm thing is dumb. If you are fed you need to fight, push, be there for your team, not farm top so you don't miss that big wave and canon minion. In fact split pushing is done by champs who are behind and would be useless in a fight( or not that useful) and/ or by champs who are natural split pushers. I am curious to know what the idea behind the grades was( I know riot doesn't say how they form them). However, I am beginning to understand and I am shocked by the importance of farm over kills. It would be so much easier with gold earned- at 20 minutes you should have max 14 000 for example, you have earned 12 900- You are slightly below perfect so S. It shouldn't matter where that gold came from-kills, farm, baron.
