My reaction to every champ release

  1. (Before Champ is released) - Wow that champ looks really cool I want to buy them.
  2. (When I play against champ) - Oh wow this champion is really broken.
  3. (After playing against champ) - There is no way I'm ever going to buy such an overpowered champ.
  4. (After Not buying champ) - I didn't buy champ.

Rito please keep them in PBE longer and release champs that aren't so overpowered.

Exception: Bard Love you bard <3

The best way to test how good a champ is is by testing it with the general public, so i agree with them releasing the champion so early. My only thing is after a champs release they shouldn't be allowed to be in ranked until the next patch.

and then I play the champion and realise their weaknesses and play style.

Thank you Dota 2 for probably the best loading screen advice I have ever received for Moba:

Often the best way to learn a Hero's weaknesses is to play them yourself.

Every time CertainlyT makes a champion I cringe for this reason except for the first one because at this point I don't even want to see what he's working on next. I still don't own, nor will I ever own Yasuo or Kalista because I feel that they will never be champions to me until their toxic kits have been reworked from the ground up.

I'd still not own Ekko, but I believe Gypsylord actually has a degree of humility and a certain level of sympathy for those who have to play against the kits he designs, and will adjust his champions if they're too strong. He's taking his time with Ekko though...he still needs looked at quite a bit. (3 slows, a big-ass shield, an execute, a speedup, a blink, an "oops" button that heals him and does more damage than Vieg in an AoE on an ASSASSIN? Really??)

New champion releases like Bard's are great for an introduction to the roster because they arrive border-line useless and might as well count for the sixth member of the enemy team. That's good! Now they can be buffed just enough that they don't get pushed over the edge of balance, while still being strong enough to benefit the team they're on.

FYI, PBE isn't really for balancing, instead it is for bug testing.

Didn't Velkoz come out of the oven perfectly balanced though?

That doesn't make them balanced.

The PBE is a small section of the community that can't account for how everyone will try to play a champion. It also doesn't show how everyone plays against a champion. It can give an educated guess at best, but the actual community reaction is something needed to gauge the balance of a champion, and the PBE just doesn't quite have the millions of players that the core community has.
