Why is Janna 'so strong'?
I hardly ever see her anywhere...I can't find any 'distinct' strengths from her...
...or does she just have a ton of indirect strengths?

It's cause she eats a lot of beans and her ability to shoot out powerful but smelly wind in her chosen direction is fatal
Utility and ardent censar. Other than that the typical itemization for any support.
Items. Its the items mosty, the meta some too.

7 seasons... She has only been "op" for like 3 months this season and a few months of season 5. She is by no means thresh lol.
she's been a consistent top 5 support (easily) and even top 3 support (arguably) for the past 3+ seasons. Her only real time of being "bad" is when Lulu was broken af and crowded her out of her niche.
The problem with Janna is that her kit is so easy to use and cucks any form of dive attempt possible. She has 2 form of instant peel and buffs here allies to an incredible degree, even without the currently broken Ardent Censor.
It's not so much "what's her strengths" as much as "what's her weakness?", because she makes it so hard to even touch her carry.

I wrote about this earlier in another thread. I could just link it... but I want to use my own words instead of... my own words.
Janna's strength has multiple layers to it. First, she has a lot of crowd control on her Q. Not only is she able to knock up a person with that Q, but the time increases along with the damage and distance the projectile goes the longer she lets it charge up. Knock-ups are basically a superior stun; tenacity and CC-canceling items like the Scimitar and the Crucible don't cancel it. Combine with it a rather high damage output and a few AP items, and Janna could defend an entire lane by herself in the mid-to-late game. Hell, even in an EARLY game, she's able to completely immobilize the minion line with just one fire-and-forget skill. That's something not even dedicated pushers or defenders are able to do.
Janna's mobility ends up being really good, since she gets a passive movement speed bonus that scales with her AP. By the late game, it's not uncommon to have something resembling the Homeguard effect at almost all times. If you happen to be chasing Janna and her passive mobility kicks in, you aren't catching her even with dedicated chasers.
Her E is blessed among ADCs, and really everybody else. Not only does it shield them for a LOT of damage (one of the best shields in the game, really), but it also provides a damage bonus. A rather large one, and it too scales with AP. It benefits hypercarries like Tristana and Twitch very well, but it benefits someone like Jhin most of all, who uses his weird stat magic to turn that 60-80 bonus attack damage into something higher than 120. Oh yeah, and she can shield turrets with it, too.
Finally, you have her ult. It's a crowd displacement, which can really break up an enemy's formation, but it's also a crowd heal. A single skill allows her to disrupt an entire team and whatever they're doing at the time and providing her own with a second wind. PUN INTENDED.
So it's not just one skill Janna is especially good at, but rather all of her skills happen to be really good in almost any given scenario. In this feast-or-famine meta where everyone wants to go all AD melee assassin and ADC and get every Pentakill forever, she shines, since everyone will try to make a diving attempt, fail, and then get plastered by Janna's waiting team when she lays down all of her buffs and crowd control, holding them down in the worst possible place to be. And because this climate has lasted so long and is so widespread and no one is willing to come up with some sort of alternative or solution or countertactic to dealing with Janna. They all play to her strengths rather than trying to find a way to negate it.
Censer makes her E from extremely good to insanely good.
She makes people simply not die and makes it hard to catch them in an attempt to do so. That allows mostly her ADC to become this insane monster that won't die while just killing everything. If you didn't know: the only counterplay to ADCs is killing them fast
Her win rate is boosted to an unnaturally high level because she's a low skill cap champion that girls play while their guy friends duo with them and effectively boost them. I could cite literally dozens of real examples, but I'd get banned for it.
