Eve Mains Love Hate Spikes
Most of the Eve mains I know preferred her old splash art. The cartoon version doesn't appeal to many of us. So, I thought I would start a discussion about our favorite part of Evelynn, Hate Spikes. I was in agreement with the majority, we can't lose Hate Spikes on Eve. Recently, I was watching Scarra try to play Cho. I asked him if he thought Cho needs more buffs, or should be reworked. He said Cho needs reworked, because his kit is too old and only scales with damage. Kinda like Hate Spikes, eh? Eve has very little CC. Riot doesn't want her to be a diver anymore. (I mean, rightfully so, right? An AP burst, assassin, jungler significantly benefits from the reset on her spell to RUN FASTER. ... Old like Cho and thematically defunct.) Don't get me wrong, it's super useful. It's just dull. Especially after the mana and CD nerf last year.
Evelynn, according to the latest leak, will have stealth near walls and be able to move through them. (God I'm excited!) Here's how I think her Hate Spikes should be developed:
Hate Spikes: Evelynn hurls an orb of shadows, range increased if thrown while shrouded. Hitting an an enemy will temporarily blind them for a flat .5 seconds at all ranks. After a short delay, while Evelynn remains near the marked enemy, the orb will burst.

If the orb bursts with enemies near the marked enemy champion, then Hate Spikes will shoot away from the marked champion, slowing enemies within the burst zone. This doesn't do much damage, but provides a mechanic that highlights her class as a Master Assassin. Too deep, not for Eve! Ha! However, similar to Karthus Q, if Hate Spikes only damages one target, Eve gains UTILITY stats, not damage. An isolated target that is marked when the shadow bursts will immediately stealth Eve, provide her a blinding aura, and gain spell vamp plus bonus true damage on her first auto after coming out of stealth.
