Can someone explain to me why Wukong has mana but a Riven doesn't?

I mean, it doesn't really make sense thematically or from a kit standpoint, so what do? What's Wukong's advantage over Riven given that he has to manage mana and she doesn't?

Wukong use his own magic for create clones. The real question is.... why he's oom after 2 spells rotations ??

Then why does his Q require mana but not Riven's Q?

The purpose of this exercise is that despite Wukong having mana and Riven doesn't, he doesn't really have any real compensations for that kit-wise.

Its easier to do the same amount of damage on wukong than it is riven.

It takes a lot more skill and game knowledge to pull off a play on riven.

So, what's a reason for taking Wukong over Riven in top lane?

Their base health, armor and MR are virtually identical. Not to mention Riven's +100% bonus AD shield.

No, Riven is several times harder than Wukong, who is just a few levels above brain-dead. Wukong has to manage mana, Riven has to manage constantly canceling the animations of her abilities to make full usage of the champion.

So, what's a reason for taking Wukong over Riven in top lane?

Once you reach a certain level of play there is none. Wukong is a worse champion most of the time.

Don't ask Riot to bring Riven to Wukong's level. Ask Riot to give him the rework he needs to be on hers.

Having to micro manage is mana is an easily learned trait after enough wukong games.

Yes he has less mobility, but he can also stealth into a youmuus and flash onto the enemy squishies with vary little skill required to pull it off successfully. He also primarily builds a duskblade which eliminated the risk of him trying to assassinate from a warded bush.

So for less skill, you still get to assassinate the squishies and all that juicy fun stuff.

However for riven, You really and i mean really need to have her combos down and animation canceling and autos between each of her 3 Q's and other abilities. Making sure you time her shield at the proper times. Understanding when you have the damage required for an all in and having the skill required to execute it.

So really comes down to the difficulty in executing their damage.

Wukong got a whole stick and Riven only has a wee broken sword.

Also it might have something to do with him having brief invis and an ult that could potentially cc and damage an entire team.

He dosnt. Wukong build is full AD with no mana. the tankiest shit in Wukong build are item 3026 and sometimes item 3053 .

Wukong is very weak compared to Riven. THe only annoying thing I see with Wukong is that he can be very slippery in the right hands, but a good Riven will dominate, where a good Wukong is meh. I would rather lane vs a Wukong any day.

I feel like Wukong is one of those champs where you can abuse bad players all day, but gets rolled vs anybody with a brain.

Rivens individual spellcasts are weaker than wukongs. Shes also designed to spam her abilities for mobility and lane control.

Wukongs abilities have better range, better damage, and generally more, or better, effects.

For comparison, rivens stun is less than a second, and very short range. Meanwhile, wukong gets good ar shred on Q, extended range on Q, and pretty massive AS bonus on E.

Wukongs not the greatest direct comparison, as he needs a proper decent rework.

Wukong has mana, no built in shields or sustain, rather low HP5 for a fighter (Fiora has 33% more HP5 at early levels than Wukong does, and he has a heal on her passive AND can itemize life steal easier)...

This is all for two reasons. Stealth on a basic ability, and his comically powerful ultimate.
