Can someone explain to me why Wukong has mana but a Riven doesn't?

I mean, it doesn't really make sense thematically or from a kit standpoint, so what do? What's Wukong's advantage over Riven given that he has to manage mana and she doesn't?

Wukong use his own magic for create clones. The real question is.... why he's oom after 2 spells rotations ??

Wukong got a whole stick and Riven only has a wee broken sword.

Also it might have something to do with him having brief invis and an ult that could potentially cc and damage an entire team.

Wukong gets to build tank items with Mana on them.

Its easier to do the same amount of damage on wukong than it is riven.

It takes a lot more skill and game knowledge to pull off a play on riven.

Wukong is very weak compared to Riven. THe only annoying thing I see with Wukong is that he can be very slippery in the right hands, but a good Riven will dominate, where a good Wukong is meh. I would rather lane vs a Wukong any day.

I feel like Wukong is one of those champs where you can abuse bad players all day, but gets rolled vs anybody with a brain.

Rivens individual spellcasts are weaker than wukongs. Shes also designed to spam her abilities for mobility and lane control.

Wukongs abilities have better range, better damage, and generally more, or better, effects.

For comparison, rivens stun is less than a second, and very short range. Meanwhile, wukong gets good ar shred on Q, extended range on Q, and pretty massive AS bonus on E.

Wukongs not the greatest direct comparison, as he needs a proper decent rework.

Wukong has mana, no built in shields or sustain, rather low HP5 for a fighter (Fiora has 33% more HP5 at early levels than Wukong does, and he has a heal on her passive AND can itemize life steal easier)...

This is all for two reasons. Stealth on a basic ability, and his comically powerful ultimate.
