A few days ago I rerolled some of my skins shards and got pool party graves. I always wanted graves and i thought that I should play him. But my sibling said that Graves is all about counter jungling. Could some of u challengers tell me what is counter jungling and how to do it good. Also graves tips will be nice :).

Counter jungle is when you go to the enemy's side jungle and take their camps. Usually u leave a small one alive so it messes up their timers. Doing so will deny the enemy jungle exp and gold. Only counter jungle if you know where the enemy jungle is and your laners are pressuring the map, ensuring that someone won't come and kill you, as you're on their side of the map. Requires good map awareness. Don't be afraid to try, and learn from your plays.

You should clear your camps first. Look to counter jungle if you know the enemy jungler's location. Also helps if you're able to gauge whether they are stronger or weaker. Counter jungle when you know it is safe, when you are ahead, and when the reward outweighs the risk. I recommend you utilize the practice tool to work on graves mechanics.

Here's a video of a high ranking player on Graves: Click xD I've not watched it, however it should help you.

Fail2Spin did a p good job already, but, if you'd like some examples of ideal times to counterjungle, then here:

  • When the enemy Jungler is ganking on the other side of the map.
  • When you can 1v1 the enemy Jungler and there's no risk of their laners coming to jump you.
  • When the enemy Jungler can't contest you and there's large minion waves the nearest laners need to get.
  • When the enemy Jungler is dead, and there's no risk of the laners coming to jump you.
  • All of the above, on top of the fact that it won't mess with your Jungle rotations if you're on a farm-heavy Jungler. I'm unsure about the idea of Graves revolving around counterjungling (I don't think that's the case but I can't confirm bc I don't play Graves), but Graves is, indeed, very reliant on gold, so grabbing as much as possible is optimal. It's important to note that counterjungling isn't really especially good on any Jungler-- some happen to be better at it than others, but if you can get away with easy counterjungling, then you should take advantage of it. You're both putting yourself ahead and putting the enemy Jungler farther behind.
