I would even disagree with the CC part.
CC counters everyone... out of everyone it actually counters yi less, because he has his Q to dodge it.
If you get CCed as diana you're dead, but you don't get a freebie dodge.
So I don't really see how CC counters him any more than killing someone counters them...

Two autos later and he can Q again. Unless you're team is all on top of him and spaces their CC perfectly to get around the first Q he'll obliterate any minor error. And even if you can land a hard CC, unless it's a stun or knock up, 2-3 autos while he's rooted on top of a character is more than enough to get at least one kill (while burning your team's CC that could otherwise be used against his ADC or midlaner)

i mean one person keeps CC. thats what i said. ofc you need multiple people with CC, thats his niche, low CC comps.
3TWarrior1 voteshe's a hyper-carry that with the way the system is currently being FORCED to play, his playstyle no longer falls off. he deals a ton of true damage, can switch targets easily and his only weakness is crowd control, which is in short supply now when damage is so high that in most situations, it's better to just stat-check your opponent if you have a champ you're good with that can do it...

No flash no life1 votesFrom my understanding, it's because people do not want to deal with yi as a teammate or as an opponent. It's like yasuo, it's not fun to deal with them, op or not.
As a teammate, yi either doesn't offer anything (especially early game), or single-handedly carry the game and make you feel insignificant: people want to be the carry, not the one letting others carry.
As an opponent, it's similar concept. Even if enemy yi farms up and doesn't gank, you can't trust your own junglar to punish that by getting a lot of work done early. If enemy yi gets 2 items, suddenly you have no way to deal with him and you can't trust your pug team to coordinately deal with his engage - heck, you can't even rely on your team to be around when he jumps on you.

FioraWillCarry1 votesI think Yi has some very glaring and easily exploited weaknesses. That being said, I default to banning him when I jungle and don't plan to play him. My reason is that I expect to get idiots every game that will somehow manage to feed him 4 kills before 10 minutes. When that happens, he cannot be stopped. Actually he can be stopped but like I said, I expect to get idiots. Stopping him necessitates using your brain which I never expect my team to have and I simply cannot counter him alone. You can't build armor against him and you cannot out duel him with any champion. My only recourse is to ban him.
