The Unorthadox Picks in Low Elo Debate

As I've played League over the years I realized with a champion roster of soooooooo many champions there are bound to be some really good champions everyone uses (or bans) in ranked and there are those such as omg he's so op but we didn't see this earlier Urgot , current Bard ,and my personal favorite Poppy . These arn't the chaps in every lobby highly contested. Now I know if you play these "off meta" champs they can still work. and some people accept that. However, why is it at lower elo's that people won't accept certain strategies and or champions in unorthodox roles on the map. I'm such a person who even though he plays ranked he enjoys screwing around just to see if things work. If you don't agree with me go watch Nighblue3 play Jinx Jungle and then come back (www.youtube.com/watch?v=aShjiXWOGGA since you're too lazy to do it yourself :P). Now if you're confused with the gibberish I've randomly laid here please raise your hands Dongers Heimerdinger and I apologize. I will now put down both sides of this debate this article was made for.

#BREAKTHEMETA Now there's currently 123 122 (The devil Teemo isn't a champion) champions in Lol and growing as a community and a whole. Now each has a "recommended" role each was designed to play. However, being a video game some champions have had a "role change" due to changes to abilities, items, or people realizing this "thing" is good (Shoutouts to UOL) such as Lulu from Support to Mid/top lane or Maokai to a more top laner than jungler. The meta has to be changed for people to show up and I believe there is no such thing as a "meta" and that the best way to surprise people and win games is to pull out something unexpected (shoutouts to UOL Poppy top). i have done so many things in ranked games that have worked I've won as Nami top, Quinn mid, Aatrox mid, and my favorite being supah hot ap burn to death nasus you're gonna need some mcdonalds iced tea for that burn from supa hot fiya Nasus mid. Nobody goes (at leash nobody usually goes) into a game saying i better ban Nasus so they can't play him mid. I believe maybe if we take this game less seriously we can be successful more. That may sounds weird but if you laugh off a death or become Korean hyped over a single kill then you have less change of tilting ESPECIALLY IF YOU DONT RAGE AT YOUR TEAMMATES. In the end Lol is a game and try out all 122 champs and the devil in any role and you'll do fine. -PentaWatt breaking the meta since 2010 or something

#KEEP THE META Excuse me, but why are you trying to break the meta? The meta was created so that only a certain amount of champs that were GOOD should be good and viable in every game with any team they play with. Champions such as ap Nasus doesn't have a high success rate when played such as a much more viable Syndra you can send mid instead. the main point is that the meta changes naturally over time with new champs but those are usually short changes to a certain champ or item and they may get a spurt of popularity but unless it's a humongous season item, rune, masteries, item, or buff/nerf champs are changed. You should stick to the meta because league is a game of strategy and winning in games with a ranked system isn't a place to fool around. -anonymous friend of mine

Who do you agree with summoner? Was this a good article? What should I/we argue next? Leave you responses below!

I think it's ok to break the meta, to a degree. As long as it's not like a Garen support I had to deal with one game. Be reasonable and smart about off picks.

Breaking the meta is ok if it makes since. Support Galio with his cc, ally shield, and speed boost makes sense.

Support Olaf does not because his only cc is a weak slow and is easy pickings for the enemy ADC.

An off-meta pick should be done when the champion you chose can do just as well as one of the champions in the meta. Picking an off-meta pick just to be different makes you look like an annoying hipster

your champ should actually do good in the role. otherwise it doesn't matter.

For example Lich Bane Sona Mid is perfectly fine. In mids we look for utility, burst damage, CC and ability to function on low gold and only need levels if necessary. Sona has all that plus decent safety from bruisers.

Garen mid is not the greatest because he doesn't bring utility, burst damage, CC and is a big melee minion if he gets zoned from farm.
