Does you like mage supports?

I main , and sometimes I get a surprising amount of anger from the enemy team calling Zyra a "fake" support, even if I still have an , , , , or . I understand that Zyra does a ridiculous amount of damage on such a low gold income and what not, but I still bring massive amounts of cc to my team, especially with . She can also supplement her teams damage or even do as much as an AP carry, which people seem to hate the most

What do you think about mage supports?

I'm really against them. Instead of forcing laners bot Riot should focus on making enjoyable supports, since the last support I actually enjoyed was Braum.

No. Playing against them feels kind of unfair as they have almost everything while you have at most some utility. My ADCs loathe their guts as well.

Though that's the good thing about the rise of the damage creep; these guys CAN get punished for simply being a "mage support" because eat a headshot or two, pop goes their health bars; which is an actual tradeoff.

If anything, most people I came across loathes them, especially ADCs. They usually starve the living shit out of their ADCs, then proceed to be shit later due to not having the typical mage build, and then become dead weight for the team. If I'm the midlaner playing an actual mage, I'd hate them because that's exactly what they're gonna do: starve their teammates by taking lots of kills, and then wonders why half their team are "useless".

Even under all that circumstances people are still heavily biased towards them. Very funny.

as an adc or a support player ( support main) i feel going a mage support leaves the adc unprotected. what kind of def can you provide as a Karma Lux Taliyah Xerath Velkoz Annie ? its ok of your team has tank and peel else where like jungle and top but in lane it can be hard to be safe from ganks. that being said i dont like Soraka really either. id would prefer Alistar Blitzcrank Bard Braum Janna Leona Lulu Malphite Morgana Nami Nautilus Sona TahmKench Taric Thresh Zyra

also typically people who go mage supports are someone who picked mid and fill or mid and support and were gonna go mage regardless and they wont even get a item 2049 85% of the time. you are meant to support the team and to help secure /protect objectives you cant do that very well with out a after a and your gold item item 3098 if you wanna go into item 2301 and go ap damage ok at least you got wards. but i would prefer you to get item 3060 item 3222 item 3190 item 3050 somthing that can help the team other then pure damage

Zyra is primarily a support and very strong right now. You are probably just dealing with children that blindly copy eachother with no idea what they are really doing, and no understanding of the game.

Zyra main here myself (200K + mastery points). My position is that there are some mages that are best suited for support, because they're terrible in 1v1 midlane scenarios. Zyra, Annie, and Brand are all champions I believe due to lack of reliable CC/escapes work best with a partner. And they're not bad because they're mages with 1 support item either - the support is there to provide a utility, and high damage/aoe stuns and knockups fits that description.

ADC/Support main here, so I may be a bit bias. I personally don't care what my support is, so long as they actually do something during the game. Having a Janna that stands 10 feet behind me and randomly drops a shield on me is way worse, in my opinion, than having a mage support that is actually trying to harass the enemy without much peel. I don't mind playing passively, but if all my support is doing is leeching experience without contributing to the lane, I'd rather they just play Soraka so they can at least heal me up from all the poke I'm trying to dodge.

To be fair, if you are building something like item 3092 item 2045 item 3116 item 3151 item 3020 item 3135 or item 2301 item 3165 item 3157 , then you technically aren't a typical support in my opinion, you are an underfed midlaner. Yeah, death is the best CC, but having item 3190 item 3060 item 3050 item 3110 item 3222 item 3512 item 3504 item 3174 is being more of a support cause you are buying items to help your teammates. Obviously there is a time and place to buy these items (zyra with athene's is kinda worthless without a locket for example), but so many supports forget that you are suppose to help your team. Dealing damage is just a bonus late game. Your ADC should be doing 90% of the damage late and you should be protecting them. I'll still call you a support if you have 1 or 2 AP items that synergize with your kit. But when you have 4 AP items, magic pen boots, and a sight stones and saying you're a support, that's like saying the top laner with item 3078 item 3053 item 3074 item 3071 item 3047 item 3143 is full tank.

As long as you buy sighstone your playing an alright support in my book (Even if you are playing something annoying as all fucking hell like Lux Annie )

I can't believe you get flamed for playing Zyra support lmao, because i'm pretty sure her main role is support.

Why does it matter what the enemy team thinks of your champion or build choice? Most of them are probably just mad that the support can 1v1 their carries.
