Laning vs Veigar is cancerous as an AP Mage

If you go aggressive and do well, two things happen:

You get ganked out the ass and Veigar wins.
You build AP because you're ahead and... Veigar still wins.

If you play passively:

Veigar farms shit-loads of AP and becomes a monster.
You build AP because you're farmed and... Veigar still wins.

If you push and roam:

Veigar has potent as fuck waveclear with W.
Veigar has even better roaming potential with his stun.
If Veigar doesn't roam, he can still farm his ass off.

You can't fucking win.

Talon works just as well if not better if you don't want to use those two. Kassadin isn't bad either post 6

Counterpicking is an important part of the game.
It's a team game, and your list only takes you into account.

He can still be played around, counterpicked, he is anti-mage, blah blah blah, but I still think they should adjust him somehow.

It kind of reminds me of Garen's new passive before they patched it. Before, if you beat him in lane, you would get villain status and he would just punish you with true damage. Veigar's ult is similarly stupid/annoying in the way that the more powerful you get, the more damage you do to yourself.
