@RiotSocrates: Adjusting Pre-Made Handicaps will Exacerbate Player Frustration
Referring to the section on "Premades and fairness":
> We’ll be adjusting premade handicaps further to even the playing field between premades and non-premades.
Half of the frustration of playing with a premade is playing against a coordinated team, and the other half is playing with a premade. Beyond the horror stories that pop up on Boards every day, there is the inherent issue with handicaps where not only is the premade handicapped, but their solo teammates are also handicapped. If you're a solo player with a premade on your team, you walk into the game knowing that your teammates are individually less skilled than your opponents. This means one of two things:
- You better bring your hard-carry pants because your teammates are going to be of little-to-no help; or
- You get stomped by a more skilled opponent, but through the magic of teamwork, you get carried anyways.
Neither of which is a satisfying gameplay experience. The former you're innately fighting an uphill battle, not because, as in the previous system, you earned it by climbing rapidly and are therefore matched against more skilled players, but because you happened to get slotted in with a premade; hardly what I'd consider "fair." In the latter, you might win the game, but you have a miserable time getting there. It's like when TSM would force Dyrus onto Lulu and then ignore him for the rest of the game, hoping Bjergsen/Turtle got fed enough to carry.

Artificially inflating the handicap might bring the winrates of premade vs. non-remade to even, but does nothing to address, and in-fact worsens, the frustration of playing with a premade.
