So I'm a little confused. Trying to get Mastery 6 with Karma, I already have two of those token thingies, now I just need a champion shard.. do I just buy it and then hope it rolls up to be Karma? Or is it just a random champion? Thank you! :)
Quepha3 votesIf you don't want to wait for more hextech chests and keys, you can buy a mystery shard.
The shard will be for a random champion. If it's Karma, then you can just use the shard (this is the cheapest possibility)
If it's a 450 shard, then you're best off saving 3x 450 shards for a reroll into a permanent. If you get a permanent Karma through this (although that's only possible if you have all champions unlocked) then you can use the Karma permanent to unlock the token (second cheapest possibility) If you got a permanent for a champion you don't want, then you can disenchant that permanent for essence.
If the shard was for a 1350 or greater champion then, assuming you don't want to use the shard to unlock the champion or reroll for random permanent champions to unlock, you can disenchant it for essence to use to unlock your token.
Essence is the least efficient way to unlock a token, but getting the correct shard or permanent is unreasonably rare.

Amelie1 votesWhen you open a hextech chest and get champion shards (not skins), you can disenchant them into blue essence. You need 500 blue essence to get rank 6, I think.
You can also wait until next patch (hopefully...) where you should be able to buy champion shards for IP.

orange essence: to craft skin and ward skin
blue essence : to craft champion
To get those essence you have to disenchant the champion shard or skin shard which you get from opening hextech chest :3 (earn from getting S- or higher after a game)
you can now get blue essence from a item in the shop call Mystery champ shard ( I think that how u spend it) It only cost 1700 IP or 195 RP and u will get a random champion shard which you can get to blue essence for your lvl 6 & 7 mastery.

Amelie1 votesIt helps either way because you can immediately change the shard into blue essence. If you're lucky you will get the shard for the champion you need the mastery on.
Ibaraki Helio1 votesIt doesn't matter what champion shard you get, you can still get blue essence out of them High IP champ will be more blue essence and Low IP champ will be less essence
