Why don't many people build deaths dance?

It seems pretty good in my opinion but, how come a lot of people don't build it?

Because its just not that good. The whole "bleed" effect instead of dying right away is pretty much useless. item 3072 will still always be the better sustain item and gives the same amount of AD.

This isn't true since the buff. It was already a decent item in its first iteration. Since the buff, it's become MUCH stronger. 3 percent more damage reduction and 10 more AD is nothing to laugh at, especially when pure AD champions can build it and suddenly heal off of all casted abilities.

It alright but there is other things that do similar to it but better.

Bloodthirster gives better sustain and same AD Scimitar gives MR and QSS active as alright sustain but same AD. Bork give a small amount of AD and good AS. Decent sustain but its passive are activate are amazing. %health damage and a big 10% max health smack and slow are amazing.

CDR is useless on ADCs so all that basically leaves is AD assassins to make use of the CDR. The passive only is good when you have enough AD otherwise it doesnt sustain worth a crap. And the bleed passive is kinda irrelevant, it just means you take a little damage as a Dot, so the enemy will just smack you that 1 more time to kill you before you bleed to death first.

Bloodthirster only gives sustain on autos. Death's Dance gives sustain on ALL physical sources. Someone like Renekton won't build Bloodthirster but will greatly value Death's Dance due to the CDR, sustain he'd gain off simply Q'ing a few enemies and the damage reduction.

If so then why do Reneks from what I see still only get R-Hydra? That only heals on autos.

They get it because it provides even faster waveclear and they can use the active to assist in that. They could Q > Auto > Active and the wave is pushed. You can also transition it into Titantic Hydra lategame once Renekton is tankier for better teamfight potential.

the idea is to combine them, laugh at the enemies burst while youre just out sustaining 15% of their damage.

But then the problem is you need a champion that relys both heavily on auto attacks and abilities to really make use of both. Only one I can really think of is Ezreal. But the CDR is wasted on him since he gets CDR from his other items.

Any and All AD casters/AD assassins should be buying it, imo. Urgot is an example of a champion that was so far down the meta garbage chute but rose to viability, and even slightly OP at this point, because of 1) Deaths Dance. Lifesteal on Qs bby. 2) New Youmuus. 3) CDR and Pen on AD items is so abundant now bruh.

AD casters and AD assassins are amazing right now because of those 3 things, and their AP counterparts are worse off due to poor itemization (Zhonya's, anyone?) and later powerspikes (and with games ending earlier, they dont hit their prime typically)

better on tanky fighters than squishy carries imo; squishies need to double down on a lifesteal item to make it effective, but people like Darius Aatrox Olaf can just shrug off the damage and keep pummeling you
