Why Must You Torture Us Riot

Riot is very strict with their rules and policies, perhaps a bit too strict. Reporting people and other unfair penalties for being A.F.K in Coop vs AI. I believe such rules should not apply to bots because it doesn't hurt your reputation in the League Of Legends community and bots are just meant for practice. I find these rules as annoying and unnecessary and really just make the game easier to dislike especially when you have no control over the circumstance and you get these penalties. And really who wants to sit there and wait 20 minutes every game for five games when you could be playing DarkSouls.

Or just not AFK.

It would promote bad habits that would carry over to real matches. If you start a game you need to finish it because you still have real people on YOUR team who are depending on you.

Stop making excuses for yourself about how "you have no control over the situation" and don't make commitments that you can't meet.

No. Some people DO play bot games consistently, especially low levels. They won't take kindly to it if someone leaves, because if you're low levelled you actually might lose to them. Not to mention it can form a habit that crosses over into PvP, whether or not you realize it. Play a custom if you might be leaving.

like i said at times you have no control over the situation. but you still gain ip and xp if you lose to a bot game. and custom matches do not give ip or xp

There is very rarely a time you have no control over the situation. And if it's happening often enough that you are getting banned or low priority queued for it maybe you just don't need to play the game. This only starts happening after consistently going AFK. They don't immediately punish you for one offence on rare occasions.

You still gain IP and XP for losing to a PVP game.

I'd be very surprised that you had no foreknowledge of just how much time you had available when you started a game. Schedules aren't perfect, but with the exception perhaps of a parent of a young (under 2 year old) child, most people can make sure to set aside 1-2 hour slots for something important to them. So the need to become AFK should not be an issue.

I'd need to know more about what this "no control" is based on. If you are entering games where you only have 25 minutes, and know you only have 25 minutes, but the game goes 30, that is not "No control". That is a case where you improperly planned. If you enter a game and then fifteen minutes later get called to dinner/chores/homework/etc. then I have to ask why you didn't check before starting so you knew that you had the time free. Again you had control, but chose not to exercise it before and are complaining about getting hit with penalties for your lack of preparation.

There are a number of sayings you'll run into in the business world.

  1. Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performace

  2. Your lack of preparation is not my emergency.

It is sad that you have had to AFK games, but you have to accept the punishment if you went AFK. Sorry.
