that is nasus' identity.
Its why they are losing players, removing the identity of league of legends and creating a kitty playground of faux variety.
To op:
No. I don't want a PhD to play half the champions in this game.
This game was populated with millions on the basis of the old league of legends, now that they are changing so many things they are in fact LOSING players that built it. Players who never played the old game don't seem to mind that much though, if only they knew what it was like.
Also keep in mind, old league of legends is where we have all of the best highlights in this game's history, all of the best player storylines and team storylines, the most strategic diversity, the highest skill cap, and the most player diversity as well as in what players enjoy doing in the game and finding that and having fun.
Complication is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT Interesting.
Complication leads to terrible ability to balance the game as you so sooooo clearly see now.
Complication leads to less new players coming to the game because they see 50 different effects on one ability and have no idea what the fuck is going on.
Complication has almost directly made this game worse. Complicating for the sake of complication is not interest. If you want to make nasus more INTERESTING
Do this:
Nasus is a great basis for a champion that has strengths and weaknesses and a clear playstyle that makes him fun for his main players.
He farms, he gets tanky and has ways to counter-act his playstyle.
He is very clearly designed to be a split pusher that can also affect teamfights given the opportunity.
He doesn't have braindead amounts of tenacity, slow-resist, dashes, burst, his kit simply gives him a way to do damage, and 90% be tanky, the majority of nasus comes from the choices the player makes in where he moves, where he farms, when he helps, where he comes into the teamfight.
200 stacks = % lifesteal would be dumb, then players could simply stay in lane forever and taking away even more interaction between laners.
400 stacks = grievous wounds would be dumb, incredibly hard to balance because then nasus becomes a counter-pick instead of a pick, and would have to make the rest of his kit so shitty as to not eradicate half the champions in the game from top lane.
600 stacks = buffs while in E, no, not every ability should be crazy useful, that leads to the yasuo and leblanc problem where they are either complete shit or crazy good
800 stacks = tenacity is one of the dumbest stats in this game, besides critical strike. Tenacity is the reason we have so much CC on champions and if you don't have tenacity you are permastunned on command by the enemy if they are playing new/reworked champions.
Nasus has a weakness, weaknesses are great, they don't mean the champion is bad, they mean the champion is healthy.
- Tanky
- Late game damage if player is utilizing the Q
- Good CC that doesn't lock players down but enables Nasus to catch up relatively easily.
- Good plays can be made with ult
- Easy to understand and use
- Can be easy to kite if you can knock him back or stun him, so he needs a team to play with him and use TEAMWORK (in S6? lol.)
- Has some problems early game since his E doesn't do much damage, players need to keep him in this early game state as long as possible
- Can be shutdown if the enemy team plays a lot better than the Nasus player does and continually prevents him from farming and building good items to be the most effective against him late game.
Being able to do damage, tank the front line, dash to the backline, ignore kiting, walk out with movement speed, heal back to full health and do it again in 30 seconds is not interesting, it is not healthy, it is FLASHY. There are easily 10-20 champions that fit this EXACT sentence. Nasus is not one of those and all of these changes bring him closer to that.
Rengar
Lee Sin
Tryndamere
Riven
Master Yi
Olaf
Renekton
Jax
theres some, you can figure out some more. None of these champions have been considered "healthy". Either really bad, or really good.
