"Try Mode" for League of Legends.

Heroes of the Storm has a really neat feature where you can try out each hero on a custom map. You have control of leveling up your character instantly, spawning minions, etc in order to get a good feel of the character. I was wondering why League does not have such an option? I would like to be able to instantly try out builds for certain champs without having to almost play a full game. What do you all think?

Edit: Can I emphasize save time? Gain more knowledge about champs in less time for example.

Not worth the effort to make it, basically.

Really? Why? I feel like this would be a powerful tool in helping players improve and save time. Its like a training mode for a fighting game but on league.

Because everything you can get from it you can get from an actual game, plus more. You're better off playing the actual game. Making it would mean not making things that actually ADD value, like Ranked Teambuilder (no more troll solo-queue, yay!).

Actual games take 30 plus minutes on average right? I want to be able to try out full builds on characters without having to commit so much time in a game that I might not even get to try full build or whatever it is I am trying to experiment with. It would just give you more control at the pace you want to learn specific champs. I do agree actual games obviously help.

Most people would agree that the time you lose from trolls at champion select is a lot more important than the time you willingly commit to spend in a custom game trying to experiment with something. In fact, there's probably not much anyone would rank as less important than that.

I think the only real benefit to those kinds of training modes came from learning button combos. You never went to training mode to become good against actual players, that only comes from real experience. League isn't a game like mortal combat, soul calibur, or super smash brothers where learning a characters moves and combos is essential to competitive play. There are some nifty tricks you can do with some champions (Like the who Shurima Shuffle thing with Azir) but those kinds of tricks will come from game experience.

Any learning about a champion can be done during free weeks. If you really want instant gratification for how a champion plays full-build, all you have to do is find a friend to custom match with, and agree to just farm until you're both full build. Games where you play your champion at full build are so few and far between that I wouldn't consider it necessary. Besides, your first few items should give you plenty of an idea of how to play that champion through the mid and late game.

Obviously League isn't a fighting game lol. I understand it isn't about muscle memory in this game. But I used training mode as an example because you are able to control certain aspects of the match in order gain more knowledge and improve. SAVE TIME as well. I agree that most the time you don't get full build in matches but that was just an example I used...even testing out mid game builds would be really helpful without having to put 10 to 15 min plus to get there.

You can always try signing up for the PBE. Also League tries that with weekly free champions. Consider that new champions are thrown into free rotation not long after their release for that purpose as well.

Does PBE have such a mode? Also I feel like you did not understand my post completely. This mode would not only be a way to try out champs but a way to continue experimenting with champs. For example, you could immediately level your character to desired level, buy the items you want (No gold restriction) and test out build for your character without having to farm and spend a good chunk of time to experiment like you would in a custom game. It takes too long to get full build.

Because this would ruin the flow of playing League. Making players play this type of mode will make their mind set on thinking that the original SR is "too slow in flowing". Just play a custom game, that type of game mode is pretty much a waste of time.

Have you played Heroes of the Storm? This is a singleplayer function not an actual game mode.

Oh okay.

When I make a post about requesting a custom mode like this, it gets deleted by Riot and then the forum says that it is for game modes and not gameplay.

But when this guy posts it, it is suddenly allowed to not be deleted.
