With so many oppressive top lane ranged champions in the meta your not going to get a cool melee fighter matchup anymore. Used to be cool to be a melee, tanky bruiser vs the same. Now though your facing off against Nidalee top (which is broken as f*uck) or dumb ass Gnar, the safest and easiest poke ever. No mana for his permaslow boomerang?! WTF! And catching it isn't hard. It comes right for him! Why not just remove ever melee bruiser in the game and make it all ranged poke champions? You cant pick garen without the enemy picking teemo. You like melee matchup? Too bad. Those are history

Ranged champs require skill to use unlike those melee slap fighters.

Squishy melee top laners are in a very, very bad spot, but tanky melee top laners can still make surviving the lane their goal. You play toward team fight strength when picking a melee top laner now instead of split pushing or solo carrying.

maybe if they didnt turn into melee bruisers with high damage abilities? other then that people like ryze or jayce can be dealt with honestly.

Irelia, Riven, Jarvan, Rumble, Maokai, Cho'gath, Mundo, Pantheon, and Renekton off the top of my head can still go top fairly easily.

Nidalee was nerfed recently and last I checked Gnar has nerfs lined up as well.
