Concerning Coin, and Why This Can Set A Good Trend.
Well, I think we all have heard of the new
.
Wait, you mean I can make more money than ever before! Time to buy stuff! Weee!
Before you know it your support runs into battle with an extra item at X minutes OR just be on par gold-wise with your adc, something that would have been impossible before unless it was one of these supports:
Oh my god Thresh! If you're going to take my CS, at least time it correctly!
Would you chill! You keep throwing me off! Tries once again to execute a minion, watches it survive at 1 hp and die to friendly minions.
Later on in the game the midlaner ends up laughing at your adc for having less farm than the jungler, but I digress.
Now, I know this can seem unbalanced now, because at the end of the day, Support items were designed price-wise to be for a small budget. But with Supports making more and more money, they can get their items before everyone else now, and have a higher impact than ever before. Additionally, Support items have always been a problem when strong because the higher income counterparts to supports (solo laners) can often reach their powerspike sooner with these cheaper items.
Hmm, buy a
or a
? Charges into fight with more team utility and usefulness at a bargain.
So here is what I propose:
Buff Support gold gen to be roughly on par with solo laners, then increase the price of support items and do a soft rework on their stats, as they will no longer be support items as such. There will be "Selfish Tank Items" and "Selfless Tank Items", "Selfish Mage Items" and "Selfless Mage Items (Enchanter Items)."
In this way we can solve the problem of support items being a bargain price for solo laners to get stats, and support items will have prices that reflect their utility and overall usefulness to a team.
