its really funny that out of all cancerous champions one could have problems against, you have problems against the most straight forward simple champion in the entire game. he is literally a man with a spear, no gimmicks included.
he can charge at you and auto attack you and own you with auto attacks. xin zhao is not bad, but hes also not good. hes somewhere in the middle and everything he can do has tons of counterplay. he has only one gapcloser with soft cc and his hard cc takes time to kick in so any cc during that time shuts him down good. also, he doesnt really have good burst and his dps is mediocre aswell. his only real power is that he has a strong early game due to good base stats on his abilities and a good set of abilities for early fights and two forms of cc. this means, his early dueling (up to lvl 6) is decent and his early ganks are very scary, but since he clears jungle slower than most fighters, he falls behind automatically and since he has no mobility, he has a hard time invading and stealing camps or catching up when behind.
he doesnt stack devourer very fast because of his clearspeed and if he focuses on clearing, he loses all his early and midgame potential and he doesnt scale very good. also, after one item, he loses duels against many junglers but other than those junglers, he cant run away from anyone.
he is very hard to play and relatively easy and straight forward to play against as he has no surprise power.
to beat xin zhao, dont try to fuck with him. he is very good at anti-fucking, but if you just chill and force him to come at you (which he has to or he will get outscaled quickly) he has very little chance of success. the best way to play xinzhao is, aside from finding noobs who present themselves, baiting people to underestimate you and try to fuck around with you with their jumps and mobility and punish them for their arrogance. if they are not arrogant tho, better hope your teammates get fed.

The way I see it, his gameplay style and mechanics are not healthy, he is more unkiteable than most other popular junglers right now, he has several forms of CC, Sated Devourer makes him absolutely absurd, and he has lifesteal in his kit for no apparent thematic reason. You cannot duel a Xin Zhao. You cannot kite a Xin Zhao. There is no counter play to him because even if you get a QSS or something, you use it to cleanse one form of CC and he's right back on you with another one, dashing to catch up with you again and knocking you sky high. Maybe there is something big I am missing that would allow me to have more success against him, and if there is please let me know, but as of right now I really don't see what more I can do.
