The obvious part that is a nerf is that Riven can not have 3 stacks of her passive. So charging your Q pre-fight will purely be for the cooldown advantage it can give you, not the passive stacking (since she will only get Edge from champions).

It's probably. The big part of it is that you can't store passive procs. That hurts laning a lot. Use E -> Q? Lose damage. Use a Q for mobility. Lose damage. Have to cast abilities quickly? Lose damage. There are a lot of situations where opponents will be able to punish this.

Then, there's the ult. This can kind of go both ways, but it's probably a slight nerf. On one hand, you could theoretically do more damage to enemies who haven't taken any damage if you get your edge up. However, you're likely to have damaged enemies significantly by the time you build edge up so that you could do almost equilivent damage with the missing health damage. It also limits her ability to use the ult for a quick burst of immediate damage (can be useful for helping allies kill enemies from far away or trying to quickly cheese a kill in lane). So, that's probably not great for her overall.

It shouldn't be the largest nerf, but it will hurt a little.

Actually, as a budding riven player, I actually like the edge bar feature with her pbe kit. I think it will add for even more depth to her kit, and a bit more counterplay as well. I don't think it takes a lot of power away, since you are most of the time aa'ing once (except later game) in between your skills.

Also it gives a really interesting play to her ult now. She has to be in a fight longer than normal, but it may do more damage then before, and doesn't go off missing hp either(kinda sucks but we'll see).

All in all, not really a buff, not a nerf. Gives more counterplay so she can't burst you, and makes her have more depth.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm certainly not an amazing riven player, but I'm getting there.
