Some auto modifiers still go through even if CC'd. It's the same for Jayce empowered R auto, Blitz E or Darius W (you can test in practice tool, literally Flash E dummy as Blitz and instantly press Zhonya to have a laugh. It can also hit untagetable champion like Vlad in his pool if he queues his E basic before he W's).
