Removing Chat

I finally did it guys, I made it to a 14-day suspension. Next should probably be perma or a month? I can't remember their pyramid scheme anymore. Not too upset, it was going to come eventually. I can't stand this game nor can I stand the people involved in it.

Though I'm wondering, I'd probably play this game a bit better if there was an option to just entirely and utterly remove the chat or have the option to never see any players messages, pings, or emotes/masteries. I want to play a game, not manage peoples insignificant behaviors.

I can get rid of the chat itself by scaling it to 100%, moving it to a corner, and scaling it down to 1%. Simple enough, but then I see pings. I have pings muted completely on my end, but I still have to manually go through and remove them. Now I'm stuck with a chat box I can't see events in or logs for the games happenings.

Any possible way to accomplish this? I know /mute all, /mute team, /mute (insert here) as well as the buttons, but you can imagine that would get extremely tedious after many games.

I legit don't care about the community. I think that shows. I just want to play the game without people intervening their thoughts and behaviors.

If you want to play a game by yourself, play a single player game.

I wish there were an option to just remove chat altogether. Sadly, Riot doesn't think that's a good idea for whatever reason. Even though they openly embrace muting everything from dialogue to pings and emotes. Just give us the option to disable chat and call it a day. It's better than this nonsense ban escalation, anyway.

Next should probably be perma

Your next punishment, no matter how toxic you are in your next game, will be a permanent ban.

Well, you don't have to manage people's behavior. If someone isn't being helpful, mute or ignore them. You don't have to police people or be the leader of the team, let things happen because forcibly telling your teammates what to do is never constructive and won't yield good results.

As far as I know, there is no official way to completely remove the chatbox in game. However, you can edit one of the files in your League folder to set the chat scale to "-100" and make it completely disappear from your screen.

You can communicate with people without being toxic. Self control goes a long way, especially in a team game where community interaction is pretty much a necessity in a competitive setting. If you play norms, it's still advised to be able to maturely communicate with your team.

I'd recommend taking a break from League for a while and cooling off. Please, realize you don't have to berate or be passive-aggressive with your teammates for decisions in a video game. It won't get you anywhere, it belittles other players, and will just result in a permanent ban.

Good luck.

Have you tried "/fullmute all"?

It mutes chat and pings from everyone (I'm not sure about emotes). I use it all the time. I only suggest it because you didn't specifically mention that particular command. But maybe it's the solution you're looking for?

I say, give FULLMUTE a try!

Good luck!

There is a script you can run, the instructions can be found on a forum post (just Google lol disable enter key).

However, all that does is physically stop you from being able to type in game. It won't stop your typing in pre and post game, nor will you be able to mute all with out manually clicking them all off on the score board.

So I guess, no, I don't have an easy answer, but it's the option I use to keep myself from escalating my punishments due to the inability to not shit talk my teammates.

Other people should not be put at a disadvantage because you refuse to accept responsibility for your behavior.

Easier to permban one person than remove chat for them, and deposit a useless effective deaf mute on unsuspecting teams.

That's all fine and dandy, but why are you playing a game that you don't care about?

Actually there is a option that you can mute the whole chat, emotes and masteries. When you are in game simply just type /fullmute all (This command will mute your team pings and all chat) However if you want to mute emotes you should look into the game's menu. Go to Interface and then you should find an option Mute enemy emotes. Keep in mind that if you type /fullmute all you wont be able to see pings so use that at your own risk because pings are very important to communicate.

Yes rito please cater to this guy and let him customize his shit so he can play your damn game in his own special way. He clearly needs a hand. Idk why they dont just let players remove that shit... its a video game. Why restrict their personal options to increase enjoyment? Its not like he would have an unfair advantage by it. Its a fucking GAME. Noooo you must PARTICIPATE! pfffft. Whatever. Guess you will just have to deal with it like the rest of us who have never had a problem following the rules.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUm5SF9b5P0 This might answer your question, he basically just went into the files and changed chat scale to -100%. That's what I do.
