Because back in Season 1, i think Gold was the highest rank you could achieve. And since then, it has become a tradition to keep Gold as the minimum required rank for end of season rewards.
And because not everyone has the time to climb to Diamond, or the money to get boosted. Y'know, since there is life outside of League, believe it or not. Heck, i´m only getting to Gold I because there is legit no reason to climb higher unless Riot ups the requirements for end of season rewards.

Im not sure what u mean by same, Diamonds receive different border. Only thing thats same is that skin.

You are plat.... What do you deserve? My guess is you think it's a word that starts with the same as Diatomic and ends on the same as Almond.... not sure tho... PS: A lot of D5 players get carried all the way (not even boosted, just lucky). I can easily do okay in a Diamond game, if someone else is carrying. But i dont belong in Diamond, as i cant anywhere near carry in that elo.
